On Good Friday I will participate in a walk of witness, across the sands to Holy Island with a full-size cross. The walk will start and finish with public prayer. On Easter Saturday at sunset we will hold a vigil service on the Holy Island beach. And on Easter Sunday we will parade the cross, decorated with flowers, through the streets of Holy Island, stopping at intervals to pray. Do you think these exhibitions of public prayer should be banned, @benhabib6 @NJ_Timothy @SarahForRuncorn @KemiBadenoch? Or is it only Muslims you want banned from praying publicly?

@katehalliwell Probably the best episode of TV ever – and those 3 in a row are the perfect trilogy. As it happened Mrs Wife and I finished the entire 7 seasons again last night. At least our 7th or 8th time of watching the whole thing. Will start again in the autumn no doubt and go again

@AlanBingle @StanCollymore True, but none of this argument tackles the reality of him attending such an awards ceremony. Look at the backlash and what happened. He left half way through because his presence was causing problems. This is idealism v realism.

It can be both true that a racist slur at a public event causes distress and harm with those on the receiving elaborating their upset, while simultaneously acknowledging the person saying the slur has an involuntary, diagnosed and well understood condition( corpolalia) that is recognised in law by the Disability Act, with those having the condition fully protected by it, rather than being outed by a Twitter mob as a "racist in truth letting their true feelings out". Some people need to watch "John's not mad".

@peacefullFerret @StanCollymore You literally cannot give an award to a film about a man's struggle to live with a disability and then ban that man from attending that award ceremony because his disability is difficult for other people. It is LITERALLY what the film is about

@StanCollymore Agreed, but he shouldn't have been there in the first place. Thousands of people shouldn't have to feel uncomfortable and upset to meet the needs of 1 person. It's a sad reality, but there was plenty they could have done to mitigate this, the obvious being him not attending.

Once we've done that lets get rid of access ramps, disabled toilets and those little bumps in the ground at pedestrian crossings. All minorities should be forced to fit in with the majority or stay at home
