I’m just not sure why that matters. Isn’t that the whole point - he doesn’t play golf for a living, and from what I gather, doesn’t want to. Isn’t that the real difference?

It’s finally here: Walker Cup week at Cypress Point! I can’t remember the last time I was this excited for a golf event.
A special shoutout to three-time U.S. Mid-Amateur champ (including two at my home courses - Stonewall & Sleepy Hollow) Stew Hagestad, who is making his FIFTH Walker Cup appearance for the U.S. Team.
5 Walker Cup appearances puts Hagestad alongside some titanic names in the history of American golf - guys like Bobby Jones (5), Francis Ouimet (8), Bill Hyndman (5), Jess Sweetster (6) and, of course, Jay Sigel (9).
