I’m horrified that the government has announced £660 million to fund riot squads on French beaches, with teargas, shields and batons to be used on refugees fleeing war and persecution. UK taxpayers' money is already funding human rights abuses in Northern France. Instead of subjecting desperate people to more violence, we should be opening safe and legal routes.
