of course ideally vectors should be understood as arrows, transformations as geometric operations, and subspaces as actual spaces but not everyone was blessed with the gift of shape rotation. putting too much emphasis on geometric intuition at the expense of symbolic sets and functions can be very discouraging for wordcels who are after all also god's children.
