At times male anger at ‘women getting special treatment’ reminds me of a gorilla experiment. One gorilla gets a banana every hour. The females next to him get one every four hours. Then someone decides to be fairer and gives the females a banana every two hours instead. The original gorilla? He flips out. He's still getting his banana every hour, but it feels like a loss because his advantage shrank. That's how a lot of men react to basic fairness for women: not as justice, but as theft.

i would never argue with a vegan because they’re making the morally correct decision and i’m not. i don’t have any truly sound way to counter their perspective from a moral standpoint. so i just practice cognitive dissonance and eat my beef and pork and keep my mouth shut.

Not believing trans women are women automatically equals transphobia? What are we even talking about here? Can people not ideologically disagree without it being some sort of phobia? We’re not even talking about settled science here. We can’t have intellectually honest discussions if the opposition is turned into monsters just for disagreeing. We need to be better.

That’s how change happens. If we get together and refuse to participate in the system they can’t control us.

This is why we aren’t getting anything done because too much of these protests have become performative. Don’t just break the gates down tear the buildings down. There are MILLIONS of these people protesting who have the ability to physically bring down this regime but the most they’ll do is shout with signs. That’s great but it’s nowhere near enough. The opposition doesn’t take us seriously because why would they? All of these people will go back to work tomorrow to serve the corrupt government controlling us. We have to be willing to actually risk something y’all. Where are the nationwide strikes and rebellions? If the most you’re willing to do is write on cardboard that you disagree with what’s happening then nothing is going to change. Do people really think something like this ends peacefully? That peaceful protests are going to give us the results we want? No wonder we’re in this situation. DIRECT ACTION PEOPLE. Look at what history tells us. It’s there for a reason.

Sued? You mean criminal charges? Violence solves nothing. It never has. It just creates a cycle of revenge that brings even more violence. The best way is civil disobedience. Simply don’t comply with immoral or nonsensical laws. Not paying taxes. If we all get together and refuse to give them our money or participate in the system it would literally crumble.

I hate that the US is so attached to this 2-parent household nuclear family bs. Mothers are miserable this way and always have been. It was never as beneficial as it was marketed. Women were drugging themselves to get through the day. Become neighbors with your best friend. Co-parent with your cousin. Alternate weekends with a school mom. Idgaf. But think of something else outside of thinking your marriage alone is enough support for you, your spouse, and your children.

@dafurtlad @daisyldixon Because we stopped incentivizing the metalworkers and carpenters to make pieces like this. We decided we wanted cheaper pieces and so they gave us just that. This isn’t to say they don’t still make pieces like the ones from the OP, but the common man has been priced out of them.
