@Affronter84 @FarmingUK its more the govt subserdising cheaper food at the comsumer end - most countries do it. ours do it in the form of grants. however i wouldnt trust welsh govt to run a farm business either.

@Affronter84 @FarmingUK if the public are prepared to buy from their local farmers then i cant see why not farmers follow the market and like any good business they follw the grants put out b y the govt. so i guess it is on the welsh labour govt to back farmers.

Windermere vs Buttermere Which would you rather swim in? Lake 1 (Windermere): Used as a dumping ground for sewage by United Utilities — a £7 billion private water company. Lake 2 (Buttermere): Receives no sewage discharges from United Utilities. Windermere shouldn’t look like this. Yes, these lakes aren’t identical — but this is a critical distinction. 📍First image: taken this morning at Cockshott Point

@TrooperSnooks agreed but also if it does get a bit shovey and pushy sometimes sharp bit of steel is useful

When push comes to shove, steel is important, but you can't eat steel.

More sunny and warmer weather over the next few days but a change on the way! Saturday the warmest day of the weekend. Sunny for a while but cloud increasing with some rain. Sunday cooler and breezier with sunny intervals and scattered showers. Changeable and mixed next week.

Lost a lamb half an hour ago. I’ve lambed sheep for 40+ years but it still knocks my guts out when we lose one, and we inevitably do. Often its just bad luck, you go to one field instead of the other and the 5 mins that takes is the difference between saving one or not.

If you are in Aldeburgh for the May bank holiday weekend, pop in to @AldeBooks. If we haven't already drunk it all, there's a glass of wine waiting for you, and my book.

Discussion on @BBCr4today re Right to Roam. You can be as responsible as you like, but your presence alone will normally be a disturbance and wildlife will then avoid those areas.

In all honesty I just think we need to label everything as it is. If it’s chlorine washed make it have a massive label on it. If it’s used pesticides in production that are harmful and banned here make it have a massive label on it. If it’s been slaughtered non stun stick a massive label on it. British produced? Plaster that on the label and educate the public about why that matters and what the difference is. Just label everything in favour of buying British. You can buy a British chicken for a couple of £, I fail to see how an imported chlorine washed chicken can cost much less and stick a chlorine washed label on it and the public can choose what they buy. Get the labelling right and educate the public on why Buying British is superior is my take on trade deals, frankly including EU produce which is largely not up to our standards either!

Nigel Farage may dress up in a wax jacket for a photo next to tractors in Westminster, but he's an opportunistic weasel who is no friend of British farmers or British agriculture. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…

I’m sure some regen bale grazing is just made up work… the cows seem to be in fields with way more grass than ours At modest stocking densities with good grazing planning and daily movement I reckon we don’t need it

Yet another attack on UK farmers. ……… what did we do to deserve so much hate from this @UKLabour government ? This is state sponsored theft ☹️ This is how dictatorships and communists operate …… this is not Great Britain
GB News@GBNEWS

'There will be no farmers left at this rate, it's crisis point now!' Farmer, Clive Bailey, has sent a dire warning to the Labour government on GB News after farmers could be forced to sell fields for less than their potential value under new controversial measures.
