What a fun project to be a part of. I love to see a group of misfits use an untamed tool that is constantly changing and evolving, and making that battle between their artistic voices and the tools part of the work. Think about how special that is. Few mediums have shifted as fast as AI video. It creates a unique moment. Latent ideas either find makeshift solutions with what is available or artists develop the patience for the (inevitable) new updates that will allow the materialization of that thing they have stuck in their minds that the tech can realize just yet. "The @fellowshiptrust Daily program offers something cool for AI video: an archive structured at the tempo of the medium itself. It does not have to declare a canon to be historically valuable. It can instead preserve the evidence required for future historiography, including the mundane details that usually get lost, such as version context, emerging conventions, and the moment when a visual grammar becomes thinkable because a tool update makes it possible." Really proud of all the artists and their effort to show up and experiment. EOY Recap: The Daily Program, Season II In 2025, the program continued as a space for artistic experimentation around AI video. This year, we invited 70 artists to present work that extends the survey we began in 2023. AI video remains an unstable genre because the tools change quickly and unevenly, with each new release altering what motion and continuity do to storytelling or formal experimentation. That instability is not only a constraint. It is also a condition that invites risk, iteration, and the proposal of new visual grammars. Across the year, artists worked with a wide range of approaches and model families, from GAN-based systems to Sora, alongside other contemporary text-to-video and image-to-video tools. ↓ Below is a longer reflection on why we think this initiative matters
