Still in disbelief that this happened to me in #Balham yesterday. I was walking alone with my ear pods in & stopped as I thought he was asking for directions. Instead it was racist abuse. Filmed a few seconds of it. Have reported to @metpoliceuk & am giving a statement next week

Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters have been called to a fire at a scrap metal recycling yard on Manor Road in Erith Around 100 tonnes of scrap metal is alight.  The fire is producing smoke in the vicinity and residents who live or work nearby are encouraged to keep windows and doors closed and avoid the area where possible The Brigade's Control Officers took the first of 16 calls to the fire at 04:56 and sent fire crews from Erith, Bexley, Plumstead, Sidcup and surrounding fire stations to the scene @LondonFire @LFBDroneTeam #erithfire #scrapmetalfire #fire #erith #kentonline

Both lifts still out of service, the stairs are full of lime bikes and @Royal_Greenwich clearly using our council tax in ways that do not include wheelchair users or people who are not fit enough to carry their bikes, prams etc up and down those stairs. @GreenwichLift

Had heart breaking email from students @GoldsmithsEng I taught life writing at Goldsmiths for 2 yrs. Wonderful students, great colleagues ... abysmal uni management. A great university is being wrecked for no good reason. Deeply sad for students and staff #highed #ucurising
