This is terrible. The only therapist I ever had who was successful at treating the trauma I sustained by having been raped by an adult man in childhood, was trained in the Bellevue torture PTSD program. She understood that sexual assault is a form of torture.

I'm sad to hear that the Bellevue Program for Survivors of Torture in New York City is scheduled to close down next month because of concerns about federal funding. It has served torture survivors worldwide for decades.
