@lueyee Isn't Rhode Island's law in violation of the Civil Rights Act? Doesn't it help perpetuate harmful stereotypes about Jews being incestuous?

@AuronMacintyre The main stat is a load of crap anyway because they never adjust for age. Of course 45 year old Vietnamese immigrants won’t be committing the same level of crime as second generation El Salvadorians in East LA.

This route is just under a thousand miles. At the industry standard ~50mph average it would take 20 hours. That's not great... but it's not terrible; that's approximately LSL speed and distance. But the LSL is needlessly slow, at something more like 15 hours it makes a *lot* of sense as a sleeper train. Something like Houston at 6pm, Dallas at 9pm, then overnight and you arrive at Pueblo at maybe 7:30 and Denver Union at 9am. Then the set sits in Denver for 8 hours and returns to Denver at 7p, arriving in FTW at like 6:30-7 and Houston at 9a. I think this could very reasonably be pitched to people as an alternative to flying. Amtrak really needs the single-sleeper pod train cars though...

@feelsdesperate Queens is the most third-world tier place in the US I’ve ever visited, and I’ve been through Indian reservations and ran through 95% Hispanic neighborhoods in South Texas.

My father had to take the E train deep into Queens every day for work temporarily a few years ago. He said that there were psychotics or passed out drug addicts on every subway car. He’s a veteran of ‘80s NYC so it says a lot that he was taken aback by the degree to which this important arterial transportation line had been give over to unwell people. Thankfully he only had to do it for 3-4 months but this type of stuff is a huge quality of life downgrade for working class people who often have long daily commutes on the subway.
Chris Arnade 🐢🐱🚌@Chris_arnade

I love the US, and NYC, but coming back from five weeks in Japan/Korea can be so demoralizing. The E train from Jamaica to Port Authority was a mess. Filthy, depressing, and a minefield of possible problems. The car I was in had at least six guys in various states of distress. I sat next to one, a clearly mentally compromised man, muttering to himself, who made it clear he didn't like me being so close, but I bet he wasn't having a bad day. He wasn't because he was drugged into lethargy, but you never really can tell, and you always risk a miscalculation. I'm a pretty large guy and I've spent a lot of time around people like this, so I wasn't worried, but I felt bad for the women on there, some with kids, who have to play a far riskier game when riding the subway. Sure, the odds of something bad happening are small, but they should be zero, and they could be, if we only enforced the rules.

My overwhelming preference is to avoid the "rivers of blood" scenario, where millions on each side die. That's the primary reason for National Divorce instead What if the Left wants to fight instead? Assuming an actual state-level conflict, then they are acutely vulnerable👇 1/

@SaysSimulation Perfectly valid choice but are you being realistic? Blue America aches for conflict, it defines itself by enmity towards Red America. Blue will not let Red go. Serious conflict inevitable IMHO.

Straddling the fine line between alienating the Indian vote and protecting American jobs. Several members of the administration and the VP and Second Lady are intertwined in this too. Also: Demographics is destiny and in a generation and change there is a good chance whites will be in 3rd place behind Hispanics and Indians in terms of total population of Americans.

Fleeing pursuing Indians, a young Washington is submerged in a freezing river. He heaves himself out with one hand ( 6'3" 220lbs ) & somehow survives the night w/o suffering frotstbite, unlike his dry companion. Author concludes "Washington must have been a physical prodigy, made of seemingly indestructible stuff"

@JohnnyReb1989 Tuskegee used to be majority White until the Feds stopped them from changing their municipal borders (like what Charleston did to save itself), which is why you don’t hear about the city anymore.

No, Southern heritage is White. To many Southerners are "color blind" and don't realize this. That's why so many blacks have been taking over Southern cities and even small towns. Look at Selma, Atlanta, Memphis, etc... That's also why so many of our Monuments have been taken down. Because a majority of blacks vote for liberal politicians, which further destroys our cities and towns. Also, a majority of black on White crime is in Southern states. Whites need to stick together and preserve OUR history and heritage. Especially in the South.

What people are missing about the birthright discourse is that "subject to the jurisdiction" is an obvious play on "subject to the crown," which pretty clearly only applies to citizens

Admirable consistency, but the problem is this principle really only goes one way. Yes, reading against birthright citizenship arguably requires a somewhat strained reading of the 14th amendment. But, like, come on. Liberal justices read *gay marriage* into the 14th amendment.
Joshua J. Prince@JoshuaJPrince

FWIW I fall into the seemingly small camp that thinks that birthright citizenship is probably required by the text of the 14A while also being a horrible policy if it extends to the children of illegal immigrants or people on vacation.
