@pr6ve @addasmany @johnny45436859 @jacksonhinklle Well, the fact its still on the original engine with 150 stops monday to saturday means this really isn't a problem. Most people will never stop 150 times a day lmao. Might differ per car but a well built system should hold up fine

@ddlucardi @engrfix1 That's why you inject power directly into the shorting rail, because the faulty component will heat up. No need to turn it on the official way it was designed to

@engrfix1 This method requires the board to turn ON. However many boards will remain unpowered if there is a faulty component

@PandaSharp_ @ocornut IIRC they did some bullshit with NVIDIA drivers/control panel in the past, but my memory is too vague to remember the details.

@ocornut "Microsoft are lobbying (or maybe even bullying?) large companies into moving their download to Microsoft Store" any source? Everyone is still free to provide installer from their own websites if they want.

Microsoft are lobbying (or maybe even bullying?) large companies into moving their download to Microsoft Store but it either takes 5 minutes to download a 25 MB software, even simply fails to download anything correctly. Here I can't download the software for syncing my iPhone.

Before and after the copper mod and PTM 7950 application. Fans rotate much slower too now. The VRAM temperatures used to reach 105c while benchmarking it with overclocks, now it maxes out on 88c. Hotspot delta is smaller too because it doesn't pump out.

Recently copper modded an NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti and repasted it with Honeywell PTM 7950, and it made a large difference!

@Pirat_Nation I specifically didn't add bad servers here since i know getting that to work correctly on day 1 is next to impossible. But the lack of just NVIDIA Reflex alone and no OFF toggle for the AA blur (besides doing cvar hacks) on day 1 is just trash UX.

@Pirat_Nation > Forced Anti-Aliasing blur > Runs ~100fps on a 4080 Super > No NVIDIA Reflex or AMD AntiLag > Requires TPM with Secure Boot The backlash is deserved. They need to put more effort on optimizing the tech instead of rolling out slop that needs a 5080 to run decently.

Highguard has lost 90% of its players in less than a day. Reviews are terrible. The game is on a speedrun to failure. Geoff owes us an apology.

I think I must be missing something here. I have a new Lenovo Win 11 Pro PC running the standard factory install of 25H2. There's no Copilot. I'm 99% sure I just uninstalled it along with a load of other rubbish on day one, no hassle at all. Have I somehow done something special?

@larry0x @tsoding This is still possible without using garbage like Electron. The actual issue is incompetence and laziness

@tsoding Time has changed. We now want the same app to run on mobile, web, and desktop, built from the same code base. Native app specific to a single platform like this is not valued as much any more.

You used to be able to just create a Native GUI App in 10 seconds. No Electron, no Game Engines, no Web frameworks. Just a lean fast .EXE produced in seconds. Works on any Windows machine WITHOUT Internet connection. Software Development is actually going backwards.

@librempeg @FFmpeg If you look at the fftw3 library for example, they have codelets for sse and avx too (they even have avx512 in the works atm). These simd instructions aren't exclusively used for multimedia

@librempeg @FFmpeg Idk to what extend this rule applies to (software in the car, or outside as well) but they have their own real time simulation software for aerodynamics etc which definitely can make good use of SSE/AVX lol. Especially considering wind tunnel tests have time limits too

Did you know Formula 1 uses vector assembly language instructions like FFmpeg: "Oddly, the F1 regulations also stipulate that only CPUs can be used, not GPUs, and that teams must explicitly prove whether they're using AVX instructions or not." Source: arstechnica.com/cars/2017/04/f…

@Lewis_R_W @dormantdev @ChShersh The way the post was formulated implies that we are dealing with 1 variable, in which case he's right. It will result in the exact same assembly code on pretty much all compilers with optimizations enabled. It at least does on msvc

@dormantdev @ChShersh It's not an ad hominem. Your earlier comment implies you don't understand the code. The second one modifies the CALLER variable.
