@ThrottleMerlin @aliyapabani Considering the persistent attacks on Jewish Canadians, I think it may be you who are confused. In ant case Israel has existed for at least 3,000 years regardless of modern IRGC (aka Hama, Hezbollah...) propaganda.

@AndresDeVerron @aliyapabani Israel never existed back then, you’re deliberately conflating Israel and the Jewish people as if we wouldn’t notice. The only cult that has taken hold in Canada is Zionism

A self-evident moral panic driven by reactionary cops aiming to create a spectacle to fulfill their own political purposes did you see anything like this when a reactionary killed four in a mosque in Quebec City? the distance in the response tells everything you need to know

Toronto Police will have an increased and visible presence across the city this weekend at places of worship and gathering spaces. Our priority is simple: making sure people can gather and celebrate safely.

This is Toronto, Canada. A man fires multiple rounds into a restaurant owned by a Jewish family. This is the second time one of their restaurants has been shot up. For those of you who say that, 'this is not Canada', you're wrong. This is exactly what Canada has become.

Emmanuel Macron: “If you bomb countries because you disagree with their regime, it opens a Pandora’s box. Iran is a bad regime, but bombing doesn’t work. Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya — 20 years of interventions have produced no results. Change must come from within, from the people. We do not want to depend on China’s dominance or be overly vulnerable to the unpredictability of the United States. France does not want to be a vassal of any power. There is a ‘third path’ — uniting Korea, Europe, Canada, Japan, India, Brazil, and Australia. It’s a format for countries that do not want to depend on China or automatically side with the U.S. France is facing growing risks due to Russia’s war against Ukraine. China is trying to control supply chains and critical minerals. The United States is reshaping trade through tariffs and extraterritorial measures.”

Could the Minister please explain the right of freedom of navigation in the context of Palestinians in Gaza? @AnitaAnandMP
Anita Anand@AnitaAnandMP

This morning, I joined my British counterpart @YvetteCooperMP and over 40 partners to advance efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Canada’s focus remains clear: preventing the loss of civilian life, reducing the risk of regional spillover, and mitigating global economic shocks. We will continue to advocate for freedom of navigation and for full respect of international maritime law and the law of the sea.

French President Macron: Iran is a very bad regime — no discussion about that. I disagree with them on a lot of topics. But I don’t believe that we will fix the situation just by bombings or by military operations. Look at what happened with this type of operation in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Libya — we never delivered. Never. Even after 20 years. So you have to respect the sovereignty of people. If people want to change a regime, they want to react, step up, they can do so.
