Today’s a good day to show you how I decorated my Senate office at the Capitol. Share your favorite Legos so I can choose what to build next in my office. #starwarsday #maythefourth

@lauriewired Check out the HBv5 at Azure for another CPU option with HBM. EPYC 9V64H

A weird thing about Department of Energy labs is that they’re *forced* to work on novel problems.
More specifically, supercomputing work that is:
“not well suited to university or private sector research”.
This creates odd design choices. DOE compute isn’t “hyperscaler shaped” at all. In fact, they have a rule where they have to use two distinct architectures across each generation of supercomputer.
I think the best example of being “weird shaped” is probably Aurora. It was the first x86 CPU with on-package HBM!
Intel abandoned the idea after just a single generation. It was so neat though. You could allocate directly into HBM if you wanted, OR run it like a cache in front of regular DDR5 memory, OR if you workload fit…keep the whole thing in HBM.
With current HBM supply issues, I don’t think we’ll ever see a CPU with HBM on package again (they’ll all go to GPUs…), but seems fun to play with!

@RepJoshG Just step down and let someone serious rep the district, please

Nothing pisses me off more than when I get off an airplane at Newark Airport and, in my face, is a row of shirts in a store screaming, “I Love New York.” Really? We just landed in NEW JERSEY!
Let’s be honest, putting “I Love New York” on a t-shirt these days is basically like putting “I Love Socialism.”
With the World Cup fast approaching, my “Jersey Pride Tax Credit” will create a 25 percent tax credit for businesses that sell New Jersey-branded products and require priority retail space in major transit hubs for businesses that showcase products that promote New Jersey.

Absurd and inhuman violence is spreading ferociously through the sacred places of the Christian East, profaned by the blasphemy of war and the brutality of business, with no regard for people’s lives, which are considered at most collateral damage of self-interest. But no gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families. No cause can justify the shedding of innocent blood.

@samarmijos @GovSherrillNJ Let’s please help those who don’t have that privilege already. You already have Stay NJ, Anchor, and senior freeze last I checked, plus all that sweet, sweet equity and value that’s been helped by low supply in the state driving up prices for those looking to own
English

@GovSherrillNJ How about Helping people who already own a home in NJ

@Barchart And yet I still can’t find anything remotely affordable or good for the price of asking

Observations From The Munich Security Conference -
It took a World War and eight decades to build the strongest alliance that this world had ever seen. It took less than a year to practically destroy it. When Secretary Rubio said the “old world order was dead” during his speech in Munich he was right. It’s dead because Donald Trump blew it up.
It wasn’t perfect, and there were opportunities missed to improve it, but Donald Trump only knows how to break things, not fix them.
He thinks this somehow benefits us. He is wrong. Our allies no longer trust us. It was obvious in the more than a dozen meetings I had with Presidents, Prime Ministers and Defense and Foreign Ministers. And if you’re Denmark and Greenland, a “loss of trust” is a generous characterization of our new relationship. China is now more popular in Denmark than the United States. In Poland, the U.S. is 21 percent less popular than it used to be.
This means these countries are looking elsewhere for trade and security — that makes you poorer and less safe.
It will be incredibly hard to build what comes next, but we have to figure out a better path forward. Make no mistake, China is rising. Our ability to keep up with them and prevent a conflict depends on trusted, reliable alliances. So does ending the war in Ukraine in a way that keeps Putin from moving on to his next target. And so does growing our economy and protecting American workers in the age of AI.
I know there was celebration at the end of the Munich Security Conference. Unfortunately the champagne corks were popping in Beijing and Moscow.

I've been reporting in East Africa on the impact of President Trump's USAID cuts, and I find that not only are children dying in large numbers but the pace is accelerating as stockpiles run out and people grow weaker. I also obtained an internal Trump administration memo stating that the cost of shutting down USAID is $6.4 billion over two years. That sum could save more than 1 million children's lives; instead, it is being spent to to shut down programs that save lives. Help spread the word. nytimes.com/2025/09/20/opi…
