@LinksGems Swinley is a very special place! Not busy like Sunnigdale can be, just a real treat and fun golf course. One of my favourites

With all of the rankings lists out there, does anyone else think we should have one for the most charming courses? Something like: Swinley Forest - No. 4 on the “LinksGems World Top 50 Charmers” list I think we need to make this happen.

@mgwp1 @kmbaert That grass will be sprayed off and sand added. Was chatting to the greenskeepers when I was there last week. Course in great shape

@Top100Rick Agree with the addition of De Pan. I’m in the camp that Royal Cinque Ports (Deal) is criminally underrated

@Top100Rick It has some cute and quirky holes and the redan but honestly not even close to a top 100 for me. I feel like everyone who promotes it over sells almost to the point of trying to be cool or a scholarly expert and if you don’t sell it to that level you aren’t cool.

Who here has heard of Hollinwell in England? This is really a wonderful place that was designed by Willie Park Jr. likely the firmest course I have ever played…making it one of the toughest as well. A true gem!

What’s it like for a hack golfer to play Cypress Point? This weekend the world gets to see Cypress Point on TV as it hosts the Walker Cup. But what’s it like to play it? How hard is it? How do you get invited? What did I shoot? Let’s take a deep dive:

Happy 85th Birthday to Brian Waites, our club professional from 1969 to 2000. A winner of 41 professional titles, Brian was part of the 1983 Ryder Cup team, where he’s pictured here, as well as changing the flag with current Professional Mike Bradley.

@acaseofthegolf1 Course context helps here. Most of the day you are hitting long iron --> SW, throwing darts. You still need to hit the shots, but the shots are far easier.

Anyone out there played St Patrick’s Links yet? What did you think? I played it for the first time today; it was great to see such a special new course in Ireland 🇮🇪. I’m not chasing a list so to speak, but this was my 81st world top 100 ranked course…

First time I ever played with KJ, I had heard about his amazing bunker game skills so I asked him how he hits bunker shots. He said, you have to bang the sand. Make a loud noise. I’m like great. Bang the sand, hit the first one, goes 15 yds past my landing area… 2nd one 20 yds too far… KJ shaking his head haha I couldn’t ever figure his technique out so I gave up and did it my way. There are many ways to do it especially in the bunker
