BREAKING: Republicans emerge ashen-faced from a House Armed Services briefing and immediately SOUND THE ALARM about U.S. boots on the ground in Iran. Donald Trump is about to start World War 3... "Just walked out of a House Armed Services briefing on Iran. Let me repeat: I will not support troops on the ground in Iran, even more so after this briefing," Congresswoman Nancy Mace wrote on X. "I will not support sending South Carolina's sons and daughters to war in Iran. I won't do it," she wrote in a followup post. "President Trump has been enormously successful so far. But we cannot allow the Washington War Machine to turn Iran into another Iraq." While every sane American will quibble with her assessment of Trump's disastrous job performance thus far, we can't fault Mace's opposition to sending troops into Iran. This illegal war serves no American interests and was launched solely on the behalf of Israel to increase their regional power. Americans should not be sent to die for a foreign country. "The justifications presented to the American public for the war in Iran were not the same military objectives we were briefed on today in the House Armed Services Committee," wrote Mace. "This gap is deeply troubling. The longer this war continues, the faster it will lose the support of Congress and the American people." "And yes, when we say Washington’s war machine, we mean Lindsey Graham," she added in another post, referring to America's most bloodthirsty senator who has been urging nonstop escalation in this conflict. Congressman Mike Rogers shared concerns after the briefing as well, pointing to a lack of transparency from the Trump administration. “We want to know more about what’s going on, what the options are, and why they’re being considered. And we’re just not getting enough answers on those questions," he said. “That’s what I conveyed to them at the end of this hearing, is this has consequences if you don’t remedy it,” said Rogers. He said that Trump could lose support for this war (which is already deeply unpopular) if he's unable to make a strong case for it to Congress. Of course, Trump is incapable of making that case because he's constantly moving the goalposts. One moment the war has already been won, the next it could go on for weeks or months. The objective's are constantly mutating. The only thing that is clear is that Trump has no idea what he's doing or why he's doing it. “Let me put it this way: I can see why he might have said that,” stated Senate Armed Services Chair Roger Wicker of Rogers' remarks. “I haven’t heard his comment, and I don’t know the context. But I can see why he might have said that.” One terrifying possibility right now is that Trump will try to seize Kharg Island off the coast of Iran. It serves as a crucial hub for the nation's oil experts and some Trump officials believe that capturing it could bring Iran to its knees. Thousands of Marines are currently en route to the Middle East, perhaps for that exact mission. We cannot stress enough what a world historic disaster this would be. Any American troops landing on Kharg will be completely exposed to Iranian missiles and drones. It will be a bloodbath. We have nothing to gain from this wear and everything to lose. A great name for South Carolina’s greatest highway project. When completed, I-73 will connect the fast-growing Grand Strand area to I-95. Naming it after President Trump makes sense to me, and I’m glad to see this effort move forward. For my part, I’ll continue to work closely with @RepRussellFry and push aggressively for funding for this important project.

@kaijuwus As someone who is also the oldest child (saw in other comments) I understand being put on the backburner of your parents life. From what is sounds like it may be time to but some very hard boundaries between you and them and eventually cut them out of your life all together.

I cannot express how absolutely let down I am by my family, constantly. My mom recently moved near me, she said she wanted to spend my birthday with me, called me everyday to tell me how much fun it would be. But she couldn’t get the day off. Well then we picked Saturday to celebrate me, and she said she would make a big meal! Yay! Then she called me and said my sister got invited to a birthday party, so she wasn’t coming. Again, I would fall on the back burner. She decided to call me this morning and tell me all the stuff she made for my birthday like lasagna, some cheesecake and cranberry dip, tasted so yummy!! They ate it last night. Her husband proceeded to explain “we decided to eat it before it goes bad since you couldn’t see us Saturday”. Idk how it always comes back to me being the flake. I’ve never missed a holiday or birthday. I buy my siblings school clothes and school supplies. I sign them up for school. I get the call from truancy officers. I am the only reliable adult. Why blame me? For my birthday? You ditched me twice on? Why am I never enough for my parents. My dad doesn’t even call me. And what does it feel like in the end? Abandonment. It’s my fault. Im too unlikable. Something about me repels my parents, it always has. I don’t know why I try so hard but I wish my mom loved me. I wish my dad loved me.

@csmolecki @Goldencents28 @otokyo__ Exactly! Also, a boomer, and those days and jobs are gone for the most part. Plus, in today's job market, you almost have to move to a new job/position to get a pay increase above 1 or 2%.

@Goldencents28 @otokyo__ Most companies no longer offer defined benefit funded pensions! They offer 401k’s where you set aside your own money and you get some measly match. Boomer here and I was lucky to have had a job with a pension for awhile but company was sold and most let go.

I have seen a lot of conversation on the internet condemning me for crying in response to the news today. I hate that this is needed, but I want to share specificly what made me emotional to the point of tears. Right after the news broke that Kirk was dead, the first thought in my head was a) his 3 year old daughter & wife were there and watched their father/husband violently die by his jugular vein being blown open by a gunshot, bleeding to death on the spot. and b) the fact that my best friend Parker was there in person, less than 20 feet away and witnessed this all go down, on top of the commotion of everyone running, screaming, and confused on if they might be shot next. I believe my tears were a natural, uncontrollable human reaction. I hope this clears things up.

A few weeks ago I wrote about a South Carolina woman who had been arrested for a miscarriage. I was lambasted with comments about how it was a stillbirth, how she was a horrible mother etc. Today we found out it was an 18 week loss & she DID go to the hospital for care🧵
