Her name is Logan Federico. She was a bright young soul murdered by Alexander Dickey who had 39 prior charges, including 25 felonies. He should have never been on the streets in South Carolina! We will remember her name!

It was great meeting with the American Hotel & Lodging Association and hospitality leaders from across South Carolina. Tourism is a major economic driver for the Grand Strand and Pee Dee, supporting local jobs, small businesses, and communities across SC-07. South Carolina’s hospitality industry helps showcase the very best of our state, and I appreciate their continued work to keep our communities thriving and welcoming millions of visitors each year.

Democrats call it “bail reform.” The rest of America knows exactly what it is, soft-on-crime policies that let violent offenders walk free. Today, @HouseGOP is voting to expose reckless cashless bail policies and crack down on activist bail funds that help dangerous criminals get back on the streets.

Putting criminals back on the street because Democrats want to virtue signal to their radical base is absurd and threatens the safety of Americans everywhere.   The inability or unwillingness to prosecute crimes is a fireable offense.   There should not be exceptions for soft on crime, sanctuary city prosecutors who coddle illegal immigrants.

It’s amazing how Democrats will literally bend over backwards to defend criminal illegal immigrants while barely acknowledging the American families who have lost loved ones to those same criminals. Members of Congress and every elected official in the US serves the AMERICAN people, not illegals. If you want to take care of illegals, go back to their home country and run for office there. End this nonsense once and for all.

The Secret Service protects the continuity of our constitutional republic. Presidential security should never get lost in the shuffle of a massive bureaucracy. That’s why @RepMoskowitz and I are pushing bipartisan reforms to strengthen accountability and flexibility within the Secret Service. The Secret Service should answer directly to the President, not be buried under layers of DHS red tape.

I recently visited the Poynor School of Medical Innovation and saw firsthand the incredible work happening inside Florence 1 Schools. From expanding mental health resources and supporting homeless students through partnerships like House of Hope, to preparing the next generation for careers in healthcare and beyond, these programs are making a real difference in students’ lives. South Carolina’s future is sitting in classrooms like these, and it is clear Florence 1 is working hard to make sure students are set up to succeed.

National Police Week is a time to honor the brave men and women who put on the badge and made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our communities. This year, we remember Deputy F. Devin Mason of the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Nathaniel M. Ansay of the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, Trooper Dennis D. Ricks Jr. of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and Officer Mark S. Reynolds of the South Carolina State Transport Police. These officers served our communities with honor, courage, and pride. Their sacrifice is a reminder that the safety and freedoms we enjoy are protected every day by men and women willing to run toward danger for the sake of others. May God watch over their families and every law enforcement officer serving communities across South Carolina.

It is always good to spend time with people who care so much about the Grand Strand and are committed to making our communities stronger. The people in rooms like this are a big reason SC-07 continues to thrive.
