This would be huge. The way federal law has been interpreted recently is that once an alien sets foot on US soil, even after crossing the border illegally, they have to be allowed to make an asylum claim.

New info in the case against Jose Medina-Medina reveals that he was reportedly hiding in the park and shot Sheridan Gorman in the back of the neck as she began RUNNING AWAY.
Medina was then identified by CBP using facial recognition software, a technology that Democrat Illinois State Rep. Kelly Cassidy wants to ban.
