There is a Chinese saying, “Calling a deer a horse.” It was used by a chief minister, Zhao Gao, in the Qin dynasty as a loyalty test. One day, he brought a deer to the court and he called it a horse to see who would disagree with him. Those who disagreed, he deemed them as disloyal. The entire speech that Trump gave yesterday was a deer/horse loyalty test. It was filled with flagrant lies possibly by design so that he knew those in the audience cheering for him to be his loyal supporters. He made Zhao Gao proud.
