Africa is building a wall... Made of trees. 8,000 km of green defiance stretching from Senegal to Djibouti: it’s called the Great Green Wall - a plan to stop the Sahara desert, restore dead land, and lift 100 million people. [🎞️ africabusinessheroes]

The U.S. mining industry's all-injury rate dropped to an all-time low of 1.74 per 200,000 hours worked in 2025. Fewer injuries means more miners home safe with their families. This is what our work is all about. msha.gov/news-media/new…

🇹🇿Tanzania is about to finalize one of the largest energy deals in African history. Equinor, ExxonMobil, and Shell are meeting in Dar es Salaam this week for the final round of negotiations on a $42 billion LNG project. The hard part is already done... Commercial terms agreed and Tax framework settled. What's left is turning the handshake into legally binding contracts. 💡Tanzania sits on massive offshore natural gas reserves that have been waiting for development for over a decade. This project would build the infrastructure to liquefy that gas and export it globally creating one of Africa's largest LNG export hubs. Right now the world is desperately hunting for LNG supply outside the Gulf(Qatar mainly) Tanzania is about to enter that market with $42 billion of committed infrastructure and 3 of the most credible operators on earth behind it. Another node on the new energy map and one that bypasses Hormuz entirely.

Over 1,000 new fire maps across the United States! 🔥 Mapping where and how severely a fire has burned the landscape is important right away for fire responders and in the long-term for land and fire-risk managers. The Burn Severity Portal provides access to a range of maps of wildfires and prescribed burns. Monitoring Trends in Burn Severity (MTBS), for example, contains more than 30,000 maps of fire perimeters and burn severity from 1984 to 2025 that are widely used in land and fire management tools, as well as research studies. The new release added 645 MTBS maps from 2023-2025. Find the data on the Burn Severity Portal’s Interactive Viewer: burnseverity.cr.usgs.gov/viewer/ 📷1: One of the new MTBS maps features the 2025 South Carolina fire Table Rock Complex. The map shows varying levels of burn severity in the forested area, as explained in the legend. It also shows the fire’s location in extreme northwestern South Carolina. Burning more than 14,000 acres, Table Rock Complex became the largest fire in Upstate South Carolina history. Hurricane Helene had left fire fuels on the ground the previous year that contributed to burning, and the steep terrain also challenged firefighters. According to the South Carolina Forestry Commission, at more than $11 million, the Table Rock Complex was the most expensive fire the state has had to fight. 📷2: Firefighters rely on aviation methods more than usual in the Table Rock Complex fire in South Carolina, where bulldozers are more typical. Here, a helicopter drops water on the fire. The South Carolina Forestry Commission firefighting efforts were supported by South Carolina Army National Guard helicopters and a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. BREAKING: The ICE agent who murdered the unarmed Minnesota mother, Renee Good, has quietly returned to active duty in another state. Three months after ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot Renee Good in the arm, breast, and head as she tried to drive away — muttering "f@ckng b#tch" on his own cellphone video as her car crashed into a parked vehicle with her dying inside — he is back on active duty in a different state. Ross faced no criminal charges and only three days of administrative leave. He was quietly relocated out of Minnesota and went back to work. Good, 37, was an unarmed mother who was shot on January 7th during a Minneapolis ICE operation. Seventeen days later, VA ICU nurse Alex Pretti was shot dead in the same operation. The killings sparked global outrage, mass protests, and ultimately consumed DHS Secretary Kristi Noem's career. Now, the agent responsible for Renee Good's death is performing administrative and investigative duties. The accountability process has been frozen — deliberately, according to senior DHS officials — because ICE's internal affairs division cannot begin its own review until the FBI investigation concludes. And the FBI investigation has stalled. One senior ICE official told the PunchUp Substack blog that the FBI needs to "sh*t or get off the pot." "It's just hanging out there," they said. The FBI probe has been clouded by serious misconduct allegations from the beginning. FBI supervisor Tracee Mergen resigned from the Minneapolis field office in January after saying she was pressured to reclassify her civil rights inquiry into Ross as an investigation of an alleged assault on a federal officer by Good herself. Whistleblowers told Senators Whitehouse and Durbin that FBI Director Kash Patel personally directed agents to reframe warrant language to portray the dead woman as a suspect rather than a victim. Multiple senior DHS officials told PunchUp that the decision to freeze out Minnesota state investigators from the crime scene was directed by the White House. Career officials who believed a joint federal-state review would produce a more credible outcome were never consulted. When outgoing ICE Director Todd Lyons was asked directly by a House subcommittee whether he would apologize to Good's family for how she was publicly characterized, he said he'd speak to them privately but wouldn't comment on an active investigation. Hours later, he announced his resignation. Somehow Jonathan Ross remains on active duty — and Renee Good remains dead, a victim of the Trump administration’s malfeasance. Please like and share this post if you believe that Jonathan Ross should be in prison by this point, not back on the job.

AMLER is helping transform abandoned mine lands into public spaces that strengthen communities and expand outdoor access. Lanny E. Erdos joined Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to mark the opening of two recreation sites in Ohio’s Appalachian region. The projects reflect a federal, state, and local partnership supported by a $6.53 million AMLER investment matched with $23.6 million in partner funding from ODNR and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Abandoned Mine Land program. The sites include a new visitor center, campground, and cabins, improving access, safety, and recreation opportunities while addressing long-standing mining impacts.

NOT A COINCIDENCE: WHAT LIES BENEATH THIS OPERATION What are Chinese nationals doing here in the Philippines—with illegal mining operations, industrial explosives, detonators, mineral ore, and even PLA-style uniforms found on our soil? These are not details we can simply ignore. This case raises serious questions about organization, access, and intent. Influence does not always arrive with warships or gunfire. Sometimes it moves quietly—through hidden networks, illegal footholds, and activities that slowly normalize foreign presence inside another country. That is why the question must be asked: Why were military-style uniforms found in an illegal mining operation in the Philippines? What were they meant to signal, conceal, or prove? No shots fired—but our land, resources, and sovereignty were already being tested. Stay alert. Demand answers. Protect what is ours. #Philippines #WestPhilippineSea #ProtectOurSovereignty #StayAware #KnowTheFacts #NationalSecurity #DefendOurLand #TruthMatters
