There are two ways of tying a standard shoelace knot, based on the relative handedness of the two half-knots, and the correct one basically never comes undone. I assume everyone else knows this and has been gently pitying me as I ignominiously retie my flailing laces, but sharing here just in case.

PSA: if you donate blood more than once a year, your ferritin levels will get very low and you will have health problems. The blood banks don't tell you about this because it would reduce donations.

Apple Watch is the best middle ground. My three oldest children have them. Each have their own cell service ($10-15 a month) and iMessage, Apple Music, and I can track them. Connection without screen addiction.

I finally caved and got my 13 year old an iPad after watching his social life disappear w/out access to iMessages. His friends were making plans to ride bikes or play football but he wasn't ever included because he wasn't in the chat. An Apple device was a necessary evil

@patio11 Trad payment rails often don't have a unified api across institutions because banks don't like being turned into a dumb pipe. Blockchains can conceivably achieve that.
When a common api exists in tradfi (e.g. UPI in India) they're created by gov mandate.

I sometimes get asked whether I expect agents paying each other to use stablecoins.
I certainly expect them to call a remote API backed by a database, but wonder why they would have strong preferences on which payment rail to use.

My most Ted Cruz-like opinion is that we are now stuck with too many dumb tax-advantaged savings accounts and should probably just consolidate all of them into one, if at all possible.

@Duderichy Singapore (<300sq miles) is smaller than any US city with 6.1m residents - the cost of building a mobile network is extremely cheap and density keeps the per subscriber cost low
