It's not fine because he did it in the most weak way. If you have an opinion have an opinion. Stop calling yourself empathetic when you only care about the people that think and act like you. "Hey guys no really I'm really good guy also I hate this other guy, but I wish him the best" Just have a mf backbone

Typical NYT understatement for what is an apocalyptic destruction of the American innovation ecosystem. I can't understand how the Trump administration is doing this while boasting about American technology leadership. Don't they realize that a nation can't get technological innovations without scientists, and that scientists are former PhD students?

Formed in 1989, Dread Zeppelin was an American rock band that famously performed Led Zeppelin songs reimagined in a reggae style, fronted by a Las Vegas-era Elvis Presley impersonator named Tortelvis.

@KingBobIIV We have been reading homer for at least 2000 Years and will be for anothet 10,000. Her lack of self awareness, of her place (or to be more precise, her irrelevance)is mind boggling.

And Homer replies... "So, just to be absolutely clear, Helen runs off with Paris, a thousand ships are launched to get her back, an entire civilisation spends ten years slaughtering itself, Achilles dies, Ajax dies, Troy is burnt to the ground, countless young men are hacked to pieces, all because Helen wanted to get her leg over with a Trojan... Then Odysseus, who's never even met her, spends another ten years trying to get home, loses every one of his men, gets blown from one end of the Mediterranean to the other, is imprisoned by Calypso, nearly eaten by a Cyclops, enchanted by Circe, tempted by the Sirens, chased by Poseidon, washes up naked on beaches, arrives home, his dog dies, he's missed his son grow up and has to kill a house full of blokes trying to shag his wife and you think I should, *checks notes* 'make it a bit more about Helen?'"

Almighty lisp, I was using a lot of CL before and I switched to c. BUT... I think i know where i went wrong with CL that made me leave. Too much quicklisp!! One should try and write everything themselves as much as possible to become intimate with the language. Even it will take you 5 times as long in the beginning. Treat it like a low level lang from the very beginning. reduce dependencies. suffer and learn tremendous amounts.

My read could be wrong (usually is not) but JD isn’t set up for failure. Being attacked by chicken hawks helps him. The war is unpopular, if the peace deal fails, general public doesn’t blame him. This is Trump’s war.

@rfleury @rms80 @jonathan_wilke I am in the process of build a ui now that encompasses both. All the cool futuristic interfaces in movies and illustrations, are some combo, keyboard driven with graphics. Perfect example of usefulness is Bloomberg terminal.

Critically, CLI vs. GUI is a false dichotomy. CLI is merely one small subset of the set of all GUIs. It is restricted from using certain portions of the space of all GUIs. In order to claim CLIs are superior in all cases, you need to believe that all non-CLI portions of the space of all GUIs are less efficient for humans to use. That is an absurdity.

I don't get the hype around CLI coding tools like Claude Code. Human-computer interaction evolved past the terminal 30 years ago for a reason. UIs won. Why are we regressing?

Megyn Kelly dropped a 30-second sociopath test on Andrew Schulz that actually works. A man shows up at a funeral, locks eyes with a woman by the casket… then a week later he kills her mother. Why? Normal brains twist for a minute trying to solve it. Sociopaths? They answer instantly: “So he could see her again.” No hesitation. No moral friction. Just the fastest path. One in four people supposedly tick that box. Andrew breathing a sigh of relief after getting it wrong was pure gold. This isn’t just a party trick, it’s a wild window into how differently some minds are wired. Makes you wonder who you’ve sat next to that sees the world like this. What was your first guess?
