Today… It’s been 35 years since my mom passed, She was brilliant in a quiet, beautiful way, kind beyond words, always giving, always lifting others. The world was better because she was in it. Some people leave a light behind them, hers has never faded. cc: @LouisColumbus

As we await 240-week outcomes data, the interim results of the ESSENCE trial showed that semaglutide 2.4 mg weekly in MASH with F2-F3 fibrosis: 63% achieved steatohepatitis resolution vs 34% with placebo (NNT ~3-4), and 37% improved fibrosis stage vs 22% placebo at 72 weeks. Beyond liver benefits, semaglutide had 10-11% weight loss and cardiometabolic improvements including reductions in HbA1c, blood pressure, and inflammatory markers. oaepublish.com/articles/mtod.…

🔬 Semaglutide’s liver benefits aren’t just about weight loss. New Cell Metabolism data reveals a direct intrahepatic mechanism: • Acts on GLP-1 receptors in pericentral liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) • Restores oxidative metabolism & reverses pro-inflammatory endothelial phenotype • Reduces lipid accumulation, collagen biosynthesis & immune cell infiltration • Suppresses FABP4 & CD36 — key biomarkers of therapeutic activity Result: MASH resolution and restored intercellular communication across the hepatic niche — independent of weight reduction. This reframes semaglutide as a direct hepatoprotective agent, not just a metabolic one. Gonzalez-Rellan MJ et al. Cell Metabolism 2026. #MASH #NAFLD #GLP1 #Semaglutide #Hepatology #Metabolism

The Hilton donated the ~2600 dinners that went unserved at WHCD. They freeze dried the steak and lobster for longer shelf life before giving them to 2 shelters for abused women and children. HUGE thank you to the staff that worked through the night under terrible circumstances.

There was one thing, Artemis II mission Commander Reid Wiseman shared, that kept the team grounded through it all, even during the times when they momentarily drifted from their focus or were missing their families: Integrity. Interestingly, the crew chose “Integrity” as the name of their capsule because it embodied the value they sought to align their work with every day when on the mission. A thank you, in their own words 🫶 The Artemis II crew wanted to share their thanks to everyone who followed along during their journey, and share a reminder that there’s still more human exploration—and Artemis content—coming.

Chase Anderson, MD, MS (K.C. Ardem) 🦸🏽‍♂️🏳️‍🌈
In 2023, I wrote about being a psychiatrist who lived with suicidal ideation and the need for our society to discuss suicidality openly to decrease stigma. In April 2025, I wrote about the framework I used to notify others, create goals to keep me alive, cultivate self-love, and radically accept my suicidality when it arose. In August 2025, I wrote about the framework I use to turn each and every suicidal thought from a seemingly insurmountable force into solvable components. Today, we move forward in my narrative. This time, I write to you all to share the four steps I use to navigate and continue my healing journey in the months after my suicidality goes into remission. Honored to publish in @medpagetoday with my newest piece, “Living After Suicidality: A Physician’s Framework for Healing After Their Suicidality Goes into Remission.” So much love and gratitude to @genevievefri for the stellar edits along with the thoughtfulness and care she put into collaborating on this article.
