At 7:15 p.m. ET today, U.S. Central Command forces began launching the third round of strikes this week against Iran after Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces blatantly attacked M/V GFS Galaxy, a Cyprus-flagged container ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz. A civilian crew member is missing and the vessel is unable to continue the journey due to an onboard fire and significant engineroom damage. Iran was provided yet another opportunity to demonstrate adherence to the Memorandum of Understanding after being held accountable for earlier attacks on commercial vessels but has again failed. In response, the United States is imposing a heavy cost by continuing to degrade Iran’s ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial ships freely transiting the strait. The strikes are being carried out at the direction of the Commander in Chief.

30 June 2026: Bounce Back 🏀 Market Commentary: Wildly volatile session, with the QQQ selling down hard early in the session before pinging off the 50-day SMA and ripping higher into a 10/20-EMA wedge pop. Looking at the thematic leaders, many names have similarly pinged their moving averages and ripped higher. In dollar land, the DXY continues to consolidate its strong up move as the 10-EMA huffs and puffs to keep up. Precious metals in relation getting no love, as Gold and Silver threatening to trade into new lows as of this writing. In crypto land, BTC and ETH is seen holding vs its early June lows - whether prices eventually works its way into moving average resistance above remains to be seen. Good action seen in: (1) Leaders catching a bid, and (2) Rotational sectors holding firm. Only missing ingredient is follow through. Notes: > Thematic leaders snap back higher off support while rotational themes continue to hold strong. Net new highs continues its positive streak - pointing to a potential broadening of the rally. > QQQ finds support at the 50-SMA and reclaims the 20-EMA. The index thus far has consolidated for six weeks and is important we see volatility to cool down from here and setups to proliferate. > Inability for a 50-SMA crack and rip higher = positive expectation breaker.
