Texas ranchers spend hundreds of millions a year fighting invasive mesquite and huisache. Here's Quiver running precision brush control with herbicide bullets, an open-source multipurpose drone doing the job that usually relies on a helicopter.🎯

This model handles configuration changes that break most CAD: change the number of control surfaces and the fuselage reshapes, the rotation planes avoid it, the actuators follow, and the inner structures morph to match. Built on curve, functions, and implicits. Live walkthrough: hubs.li/Q04lzW3s0

$JOBY One of the biggest risks for the eVTOL industry has never been the technology—it’s consumer adoption. Jefferies’ latest survey suggests that barrier may be lower than many investors expected. While public awareness is still limited, a large number of consumers said they would consider using a flying taxi if it saves meaningful time and is priced competitively. That’s a crucial insight. People don’t buy transportation because it’s innovative. They buy it because it’s faster, more convenient, and improves their daily lives. Imagine replacing a 90-minute commute through city traffic with a 12-minute flight between business districts or airports. For professionals, tourists, and premium travelers, the value isn’t just the ticket price—it’s the time saved. This is why I’m watching companies like $ACHR and $JOBY closely. Their opportunity extends beyond selling aircraft. They’re building an entirely new layer of urban transportation, supported by partnerships with airlines, governments, defense agencies, and infrastructure providers. The industry is still early, and certification, safety, and scaling remain major challenges. But every disruptive technology starts with skepticism. Ride-sharing, electric vehicles, and online banking all faced the same questions before becoming mainstream. For investors, the key metric may not be how many aircraft are built, but how quickly consumers embrace the service once it becomes available. If flying taxis prove to be safe, reliable, and affordable, the addressable market could be far larger than today’s valuations imply. 🚁📈

Eli-bait article. Shame on Packy and @tsungxu for blatantly targeting me in this way. So excited for MOSAIC, autonomy, and new classes of aircraft that expand our daily worlds.

WHERE IS MY FLYING CAR? Every time a transportation technology lets us go further, faster, we use that technology to expand the radius of our lives. This is Marchetti's Constant. @tsungxu is building flying cars, because the time is right technologically and regulatorily, and because they can eliminate the speed-freedom trade-off that limits every transportation technology. This week's co-written essay explains why now is finally the time for flying cars, and what we can expect our world to look like when we get them.

Fable one-shotted a @threejs viewer for our open-source Quiver drone designs. The gap from design to manufacturing keeps getting narrower. We're a community coordinating the design, testing and decentralized manufacturing of drones... on the path to manned VTOL flight.
