I've run a small agency for 10+ years. We have around ten team members. We're small enough to try new ideas, but big enough to work with cool clients. It funds our lifestyle, allows for plenty of travel and family time and has honestly been an amazing experience. 10/10 would recommend.

Stay small, stay agile, work with people you actually like. You'll never dread a Monday.

hope @robj3d3 gets better soon it’s crazy how the actions of a company (limiting a model until day xyz) can create so much anxiety yesterday i found myself in a slightly similar situation: it’s Sunday 7pm just came back from gym totally exhausted at this point the natural conclusion would be to wind down and call it a day but then i realized Fable only available for few more hours and all the things it could draft for me i had absolutely 0 motivation to go back to my laptop yet somehow this made me do it luckily my girlfriend noticed my mood, made me aware and told me to close the laptop so i did and i felt great fuck this can’t let a company mess so much with your brain and health after all most models have become so good it slowly doesn’t matter anymore which one you use

Someone stole my name* Not mine actually, but one of my tools, and I've only learned about it by accident. A few of you may know/remember that I've made a Chromium Extension called: "SiftX" I made it for myself mainly, but started selling it because it's genuinely useful - but never bought a separate domain for it as it felt excessive. When naming it I made sure there was nothing that is called like this nor even similarily. So when I talked with someone about it - I just mentioned it - then assumed that Google/AI search to find the right thing. Worked well until yesterday. @markpekel mentioned yesterday that he's followed by a lot of inactive accounts, so without much thinking I suggested trying my tool to detect and get rid of them (practicing my marketing skills). A few moments later. I got a DM from Mark - with a link to a domain siftx (.) app... asking if that was mine. If you're reading carefully you can guess the answer, so I was like: "wtf?" Checked this domain and it turned out someone ( and I couldn't trace who ) stole the SiftX name and just made some shitty SaaS ( privacy and terms pages broken, inconsistient styling etc. ) and try to sell some service for $19.99/mo... There's no author mentioned anywhere, no link to social media. Nothing. I could probably chase it more and check who registered domain and/or try the payment and see on the invoice where it goes, but I don't want to waste time on that. To sum up: - That's a shitty behavior - don't do things like that - The separate domain is not mine - My chrome extension is available from my site * sorry for this bait title

I guess AI, search decline, recession, drama, wars, and whatever happened in the last few months really affected that comfortable business I've been doing for 15 years And maybe that's a good thing, I always use the "bad things happen for a good reason", "it can only get better", etc. every time something like this happens I'm actually pretty excited to be switching revenue streams and double down on what I love the most about WordPress/WooCommerce: the smart people behind them, the community! Ok I was supposed to write how am I yesterday And the truth is that - I’m scared. I know that from the outside it may look like I’m super happy and fairly successful ( because I am ) but that’s not the whole story. The fact that I’m here, opening up, meeting new people, sharing my thoughts left and right, recording videos of my yapping. It’s all far from my comfort zone. I’ve spent the last 15years socially in a „basement” - never crossing 300 friends on Facebook ( or anywhere ), keeping my thoughts/opinions to myself, or writing them in a secret blog under a nickname. So yeah, now I’m scared that things are looking good, going well - but it never goes always up. Everyone who ever had any contact with markets knows that. Im afraid that this bubble will burst. In a way I can’t predict, so I’m helpless. That’s probably a stoic way to handle that - just admit it and move on. Last time it felt really good when I got something like this out of my system. Now it feels good too, although my hand starts to hurt from holding the phone and typing this stream of consciousness. Im also afraid that I will just die in some shitty, random, unpredictable way ( got worse after the road hit - unsurprisingly ) and I want to live, raise kids, take care of my family, help others and be happy, but fear is not helping with that… So yeah, there’s probably more I could write, but that would have to do for now. And, yeah, I’m an empath, so I already stared to feel how some of you may feel while reading this… *sigh* Im trying to think about something funny to lighten the mood, but the picture of Robin Williams pops in my head, so its not really helpful 😅 Oh - I know - I crossed 1,5k followers here, even if temporarily ( wouldn’t be surprised by a few unfollows after this littany ) Btw. Littany would be a perfect name for one of @AnthropicAI models, don’t you think?

I’ve always believed that consistency and discipline are far more important than motivation. Motivation is temporary - you have it for a while, but once it disappears, it’s easy to abandon everything that you started. I remember watching my friends - all very smart people - start side hustles such as video games, SaaS products, and more. They were highly motivated at first, often working until midnight. But eventually, they burned out and quit. I was never the smartest person in the room, but I was always consistent. Over time, my side hustle became my main source of income, while they are still working full-time jobs.
