A police van gave chase to a Smart car driven by a not-so-smart suspect. Officers skilfully weaved in and out of rush‑hour traffic to apprehend the driver, who mounted pavements and ran red lights at dangerous speeds. Just because it’s a van, it doesn’t mean it can’t keep up!

Last week we sadly said goodbye to Retired Police Dog Victor 🐶💔 Victor was a puppy from our force ‘V’ litter and worked as a GPD from 2015-2021. Our thoughts are with Victor’s handler and family who said he will be “very much missed” 💙

Today Kent Police held a two-minute silence across the force for our fallen colleague PC Bradley Corke.

Team 4 South - South Mimms Stolen Cupra Leon from a burglary at the start of March sighted on cloned plates. Vehicle failed to stop, drove dangerously and went contraflow at one of the UK’s busiest motorway service areas. Brought to a stop using tactical contact. 2 arrested 997

Following a pursuit of this motorbike we monitored the rider's movements before he began garden hopping. Pursued by PD Ziggy & his handler he was faced with 1 final decision, Give up or get bitten ..he chose wisely. Another dangerous rider arrested & 1 🏍️ for destruction #OPGEARS

Last night we targeted a drug dealer using a 🚲 to do his work. When we struck he went garden hopping but working closely with specialist matrix officers we maintained visual until he disappeared. Over to PD Ziggy & his handler who located him hiding in an entry #OPGEARS 1 of 2..

Last night a male was threatened with a machete & when officers arrived 2 males matching the description fled through an alleyway. PD Ziggy attended & picked up their track in total darkness continuing into fields before locating 1 suspect #thenoseknows well done Zig 👏

PD Jenni and Zola have passed their licensing and join our department as operational drugs/cash/firearm recovery dogs. PD Zola, we're sure is no stranger to you all. She was our scanning dog (trained in just drugs on people) but has upskilled to be a D/C/F dog. Well done girls

#FifeRP spotted this vehicle in the Glenrothes area. On speaking with the driver it was ascertained they were driving outwith the conditions of their licence and had no insurance. The driver thereafter failed the @DrugWipeUK Driver arrested and vehicle seized. #Fatal5

🚨 Last night Surrey police officers from #SPCasualtyReduction and Roads Policing were in Epsom carrying out a #Fatal5 operation when this scooter rider attempted to evade them. The rider was stopped and asked to show his driving licence. He attempted to flee but was soon restrained after he ran into a tree. Checks revealed he had no licence or insurance. Happy retirement PD Sky! 🐶🤩 Sky was a detection dog, using her sense of smell to locate items such as weapons, drugs & cash. Her handler said she was “a great dog to work with due to her determined nature"! Sky will stay living with her handler throughout her retirement ❤️
