Introducing Asprey Studio Private: a private commissioning service for collectors and institutions seeking to realise one-of-a-kind handcrafted works. Working across precious and non-precious materials, each commission is developed directly with Chief Creative Officer Alastair Walker and the Studio's multidisciplinary atelier team of young artisans, master silversmiths, sculptors, and digital animators. From the earliest conversations and material exploration to digital visualisation and final fabrication, every work is conceived and produced entirely in-house at the Asprey Studio 10,000-sqf atelier in Kent, England. Did you know Albrecht Dürer never actually saw a rhinoceros when he created his famous 1515 woodcut and drawing? Working from a written description and a sketch sent from Portugal, Dürer created an image that became Europe's definitive representation of the animal for more than two centuries. Invited by the @britishmuseum to study Dürer's original preparatory drawing, Asprey Studio reinterpreted the celebrated print as a handcrafted sterling silver sculpture. Comprising more than 90 individually crafted elements, each work takes between three and six months to complete using a combination of digital sculpting, engraving and traditional silversmithing techniques.

A look behind the making of @_deafbeef's sculptural counterparts to his generative digital artworks. Sound on🔈 Paying homage to the oscilloscopic imagery of the early 1950s — among the earliest examples of electronic art — 'Synth Poem: Oscilloscope' is hand-forged by the artist, who brings together engineering, coding, music, and blacksmithing in a single practice. The sculpture incorporates an electronic soundscape that can be manually tuned. Premiered at @artbasel in Basel in June and presented by @aspreystudio, the work reflects a natural dialogue between the artist's multidisciplinary practice and Asprey Studio's longstanding expertise in traditional craftsmanship. The collaboration reflects a dialogue between traditional handcraft and advanced digital technologies, rooted in a shared commitment to innovation.

We are honoured to have participated in this first European edition following Miami Beach and Hong Kong, grateful to be surrounded by such a strong community, and excited for what lies ahead.

A Highlight at Basel was the Platinum-Palladium hand prints of ‘Chronophotograph’ by @_deafbeef in @AspreyStudio booth. A digitally native artwork and its physical redemption is rarely nailed. The grain in the prints have a softness of detail that only analogue print can have.

Wish I could see Deafbeef’s platinum/palladium prints in person, you know I have a soft spot for platinum 🖤

Congrats to @nguyenwahed, @AspreyStudio, @office_impart x @GalleryUpstream, @fellowshiptrust and the galleries mentioned before! 6) It was great seeing some big names in Zero 10 outside "our space" who also had great booths and artists/pieces exhibited.

Summarized thoughts about @ArtBasel Zero 10 at Basel: Will start with thanking and congratulating @trevorpaglen and @eli_schein for an incredible show and conversations (panels). I didn't attend the previous shows but this would have been my favorite regardless I think.
