The United States strongly condemns the recent RSF brutal strike on Al-Jabalain Hospital in White Nile State, which killed at least 10 people—including seven medical workers—and forced the dangerous evacuation of patients. Targeting healthcare facilities is a flagrant violation of international law and an affront to basic humanity. These attacks are escalating—and must end. Once again, the United States underscores that both sides must immediately cease violence against civilians and critical infrastructure and agree to a humanitarian truce now—there can be no further delay while the Sudanese people continue to suffer.

Today, I engaged with Minister of @MIMEnamibia, Hon. Modestus Amutse on the strategic shift in the U.S.-Namibia partnership - focusing on strategic trade, investor-led development, capital deployment, and industrial resilience.
Our conversation focused on expanding U.S. investment in Namibia’s offshore oil and gas sectors while utilizing @DFCgov, @EximBankUS, and @USTDA to mobilize capital for critical mineral exploration and value-added industrial projects as well as infrastructure projects to bolster the Southern African energy corridor. Our dialogue also highlighted a mutual interest in civil nuclear energy energy, leveraging Namibia’s status as a top uranium producer to support a secure and diversified global energy mix.

We call on the Nigerian government to significantly ramp up security for Christians ahead of and during Easter. We recognize and appreciate the steps the Government of Nigeria has taken to improve security, however the targeted killing of Christians, especially on Christian holidays, is unacceptable. We urge the Nigerian leadership to engage, and to do so now.

US firm Virtus’ acquisition of the Chemaf mines in the DRC is HUGE for America and for the people of the DRC. Under President Trump’s leadership, the US is finally back competing in the DRC’s mining sector. The U.S.-DRC Strategic Partnership Agreement is a linchpin to American economic security!

It was a pleasure meeting with @GermanAmbUSA Jens Hanefeld and team to discuss preparations for the Third International Sudan Conference in Berlin on April 15, the third anniversary of the start of Sudan's terrible conflict. We discussed our role as co-hosts of the event and had an in-depth exchange on key priorities, including strengthening humanitarian access and advancing the political track. It is critical that we maintain momentum and close coordination among all partners. Looking forward to working closely together to take this event forward.
