It is difficult to express how clear it is to me that the "renewable" logjam and nuclear boycott enforced by so-called "green" groups has broken. Can't do it in a tweet, so I posted this to LinkedIn, where I spend more of my limited "social media" time. linkedin.com/feed/update/ur…

Though @NRCgov has always been responsible for helping people understand its actions to protect public health and safety, the informative video in the below post would NEVER have been created or released before the ADVANCE Act. Haters would have called it "promotional"

Investors are excited about new nuclear. Antinuclear activists haven't been talking much about that relatively new development. Dr. Lyman (@NucSafetyUCS) was once providing frequent commentary about NuScale's (@NuScale_Power) stock price. @OskaArcher captured a few of his posts and included them in a post this morning. In Lyman's view, $SMR's poor performance circa 2023 indicated that investors were not interested in the advanced reactor/SMR sector. He was generally correct at that time. As Lyman gleefully told us in Jan 2024, NuScale, which went public at $10/share, traded near $2/share in the wake of the cancellation of UAMPS's Carbon Free Power Project. That was then. Now, just 18 months later, NuScale is trading above $40/share and closed yesterday at $42.98. Those who paid close attention to Lyman's posts and purchased shares during the 3-month low period have done rather well if they held on. There is a lot of volatility in advanced reactor stocks, but share price behavior indicates keen investor interest. It's risky to make predictions based on single events or single company performance. For a much broader view of the sector, I recommend following @UnoMasReactor and subscribing to some of his publications. #investinnuclear #uranium

@Atomicrod The INDUSTRY has also developed some highly innovative alternative waste storage options, such as that being offered by @DeepIsolation, which leverages mature geologic borehole technology with proprietary IP to emplace waste a mile underground. Excellent option coming to market!

Dear Journalists, Please stop writing "The nuclear INDUSTRY has not been able to permanently dispose of #nuclear waste." The problem is not "the industry." It is THE GOVERNMENT that has not been able to agree on disposal sites, permanent waste disposal systems or recycling.

Women seem to know the least about nuclear—which corresponds to lower levels of support. Having spent the last 15 years self-educating and now investing, I've become extremely bullish. I've found talking with other women about nuclear socially helps answer their questions.

Across parties, regions, generations, and education levels, most Americans want nuclear energy in the mix. Support for nuclear is strong – and growing. This new report backs it up. Read it here: bisconti.com/blog/public-op…

@CEGCleanEnergy It's interesting that women of all stripes have the lowest "Strongly favor" numbers. Data show that the more you know about nuclear power, the more you tend to favor it. Women definitely need better sources of information about nuclear.

Today, New York announced it will build a new 1 GW nuclear plant - a promising step forward, though a bittersweet reminder of what was lost. It was just four years ago that we organized our yellow helmet demonstration, mourning the closure of New York’s Indian Point nuclear plant, a 2 GW facility that supplied a quarter of downstate’s electricity! Nonetheless, this step forward couldn't have happened without @nuclearny's relentless efforts and unwavering dedication.

Holtec (@holtecintl) has announced that it will be going public within the next few months. (Story is in Barron's "Nuclear Power’s Biggest IPO in Years Is on the Way". Published at 4:22 pm on June 23 ) I'm virtually positive that Barron's is understating the event. Holtec will be the largest U.S. nuclear IPO ever. Holtec is a profitable private company that has been in business since 1986. It has manufacturing facilities in nine different countries (US, Canada, Brazil, UK, India, Japan, Spain, Poland and Ukraine) on four continents. It makes boilers, heat exchangers, dry storage casks, waste transportation systems, etc. It decommissions nuclear facilities and is restarting the Palisades Nuclear Plant. It has been developing the SMR-300 for a decade and plans to build the first pair of its SMRs at Palisades. Holtec owns several more sites that used to host nuclear plants, including Oyster Creek, Pilgrim and Indian Point. It owns a licensed independent spent fuel storage installation in New Mexico. Anyway, you get the point. Holtec is big already but it's also as close to a pure play in nuclear as BWXT. Based on recent stock market interest in nuclear-focused companies, the Barron's article includes another understatement: "The company could be worth more than $10 B"

Given just how blatantly corrupt @andrewcuomo was and is, even before you add in all his sexual offenses, it's just remarkable that he got any votes or endorsements at all. Making it quite satisfying that he got blown out the water in the #primary. Thank you, New Yorkers!
Rod Adams@Atomicrod

Cuomo aides were involved in a corruption saga associated with Competitive Power Ventures, which was developing a 650 MWe power plant. The value of that development rested on Indian Point's closure. One of the aides was sentenced to 6 yrs nytimes.com/topic/competit…

Standard Nuclear (@standardnuclear) emerged from stealth mode in June 2025 after successfully raising $42 M from a group of venture capital funds. The company owns and operates a TRISO fuel fabrication facility in Oak Ridge TN. By several measures, it is highest capacity TRISO production facility outside of China. Standard Nuclear's CEO is Dr. Kurt Terrani (@kterrani). He's been focused on TRISO fuel science and manufacturing for the past decade, first at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, then at Ultra Safe Nuclear and now at Standard Nuclear. Terrani visited the Atomic Show for a lengthy discussion about his company, its history, its technology, its facility and its visionary plans. If you are curious about TRISO fuel and how it changes the way that nuclear facilities are designed and constructed you will want to listen to the show. #TRISO #StandardNuclear #advancednuclear

German Greens concealed a utility's offer to keep running nuclear plant during energy crisis, reveal newly released documents. German parliament is now conducting an inquiry into how Green officials misled the German public in closing all the nuclear plants even after a dangerous energy crisis and the invasion of Ukraine began. The Green-led energy ministry had claimed that utilities did not want to keep nuclear plants running. This was not true, documents just released to parliament show. Why does this matter? Germans still care about duty and honesty in government officials, and lies in order to damage German interests are still considered bad by German citizens when they come out of German ministries. The nuclear plants can still be saved, and some of them only need fuel, some repairs, and to rehire staff. The Greens claim they can't restart, but they also know nothing about these power plants (intentional ignorance) and are being revealed as bad faith actors to the German people. German utility execs also say they can't start them but they're quite transparently bullshitting and will do exactly as told by politicians, including restarting the plants, if ordered. Now nuclear is more popular in Germany than the Green party is, with elections just two months away and the German economy declining quarter after quarter. It will be interesting to keep watching the results of the inquiry as Germany and Europe burn through their winter gas supply at the fastest pace since the loss of Nord Stream in 2022.

I was taken aback by a story that appearing today's Google alert on "new nuclear power." The headline said that steps were being taken to apply for a COL for 2 Westinghouse AP1000s for TVA's Bellefonte site. That made me almost cheer out loud. The story described how a partnership called NuStart would be involved and how TVA expected the price tag to be between $2.5 and $3.5 billion. It also noted how completing Watts Bar 2 was a priority task. My initial joy was crushed when realized that this piece from the Jackson County Sentinel was dated Sep 13, 2007. Link in comments.
