@DiabeticDadUK Definitely much lower number of decisions - and most seem “easier”. Sometimes, in the morning, I don’t check my levels first thing - that feels like major progress.

You know the extra 180 decisions a day with #T1D? Does that still apply with hybrid closed loop? I've made about ten decisions today, and a couple of those revolved around which swearwords to direct at the pump alerts. "Shut up, you monumental bellend" was satisfying decision.

@glodee @DiabeticDadUK I just started on HCL last week and was told to cut my hypo treatment in half - out for walk on Friday, horrible hypo and really struggled (and failed) not to just eat all those wine gums!

@DiabeticDadUK It just doesn't. My DSN doesn't get this - she thinks I'm just fearful of hypos. Right, you try sitting with a 2.7 at 4am to 'see' if it'll stop falling.

HCL has been great. I just wish it could stamp on the brakes of a falling blood glucose a bit harder, especially during the night. 🥱😴

@CaisterClara @GBDocInfo That’s terrible. 30 yrs ago, in temp job, had hypo - dealt with by me, no impact on anyone else, but fell off my chair in open plan office. Called in by boss next day to be told I was to finish as department too busy to cope with my “badly controlled diabetes”. Still 😡

@GBDocInfo #t1d I’m so upset, my daughter has just been told she is upsetting staff by injecting insulin in the staff room. Has been ordered to use the toilet or medical room, out of sight of everyone. She feels absolutely distraught and ostracised. Anybody else had this happen?

@Marsi132 @jayrayner1 Not all schools in Scotland off then. Aberdeen/shire not finished. Postal or proxy vote easy to register for. If people want to vote they can easily do so.

The timing of the election might cause problems for some, esp students coming to the end of term or those who have holidays booked (whoever they intend to vote for). The solution is to apply for a postal vote. Here’s the link to do so. Please share. gov.uk/apply-postal-v…

@jayrayner1 @Edinburgh4EU And for thousands in Scotland, it’s the start of the school holidays, no Westminster government would ever schedule a general election during the English school holidays!

@yona1959 @British_Airways I fell for this exact scam following a complaint post about @British_Airways refund. All very credible, but still horrified at my own stupidity. Bank blocked payments. Glad you were sharper than me.

Dear @British_Airways A few iminutes ago I received a call from a man who said he was calling me from British Airways LONDON. I told him I was having difficulty understanding his accent and could he please have someone from the UK call me. He insisted he was calling from LONDON. I Politely repeated that I was having difficulty understanding his accent & what he was saying. He then asked me 'ARE YOU STUPID.'? Do you want help or not? He also 'yawned' throughout the call. I take it that you routinely record telephone calls. What I am telling you should be easy to confirm. You are determined to make what is an horrendous situation WORSE. I took a screenshot of the telephone number from which your member of staff called, insisting it was LONDON and refusing to transfer me to someone in the UK. As you can see he was NOT TRUTHFUL. He was calling from KENYA. Apart from deliberately INSULTING me? Is deliberately misleading customers part of your training? Or is this a cultural thing and you permit Men say aggressively to Women, when they have made a polite request, ARE YOU STUPID? You are aware this is now a Public Relations Disaster. The number he called me from is +254734317767 That is KENYA ~ NOT LONDON, UK. I would like an explanation please.

@GBDocInfo I remember it used to be great spotting someone wearing a #CGM & knowing you'd seen another Type 1 #InTheWild & thinking #OneOfUs. Now it's more likely to be for pseudo science fitness reasons & detracts from the fact that it's a life saving device for people with #T1D #GBDoc

Women's Health@UKWomensHealth

@AlexScott is choosing abundance ✨ Since hanging up her football boots on a career that was the stuff of women’s football lore, the 39-year-old has become one of the most acclaimed sports broadcasters on the BBC. Last month, she picked up the gong for best sports presenter at the Royal Television Society Awards for her coverage of the women’s World Cup. In June, she’ll fly to Germany, where she’ll be part of the BBC’s broadcasting team for the men’s Euros. She is, without question, a woman at the top of her game. But pigeonhole her at your peril. Whether she’s experimenting with bold looks on the red carpet, presenting her brand new show on Kiss FM or bossing a fast-paced strength training workout, her’s is an expansive, evolving vision of success. As she prepares to celebrate a milestone birthday, she opens up about falling back in love with training, letting her walls come down in her personal life and turning the negativity of her detractors into fuel to power her success. Read the full interview, in our May issue, on sale now.

@DocAnthonyT @nhsfife That’s an excellent achievement!!! We just need to replicate that across Scotland and not only for paediatric patients. The numbers for adults with T1D are alarming.
