You want to argue that Jamaicans are known for their work ethic, or were after the War? There was vast unemployment and lack of productivity on the island, hence them shedding surplus population to emigration for decades before Windrush. It was only when emigration to Panima, Cuba and the US that they began coming to Britain in numbers.

Question to white British natives only Is it wrong for migrants to want a better life for themselves when many of their own countries have been ruined/war torn or has had their natural resources extracted by the British, Europe and America? If Britain once owned or controlled their countries then left them in a an unstable/ unsafe state or continue to create wars there, why would they not come to the UK legally or illegally if allowed, when Britain has been part of ILLEGAL wars itself?

The Age Of Abundance articulated in a single sentence. What the anti-Clanker movement wants you to believe is that there must be a class conflict forever. The reality is there will become one class, the Abundance Class. It is the end of the dielectric.

โ€œHow bad are the public finances? We don't know. The OBR doesn't know. The Treasury doesn't know. The people sitting in Number 11 don't know.โ€
Josh Hunt@iAmJoshHunt

For the second year running, the National Audit Office has been unable to sign off the UK's Whole of Government Accounts. The auditor could not form an opinion on whether the figures were free from material misstatement. This has only happened twice in the WGA's entire history. Both times in the last two years. The reason for this is local audit. Just 1% of councils and other local bodies published audited accounts on time for 2022/23. By the time the NAO went to compile the Whole of Government Accounts, only 10% of English councils had submitted reliable data. For 2023/24 that fell to 4%. ยฃ73 billion of public sector spending in the latest WGA sits unaudited. Net debt and net income are out by tens of billions. The Chair of the Public Accounts Committee called the UK public finances "virtually a closed book." You have to ask yourself how bad the real picture is. This is not a technical accounting story. The state has lost the ability to verify its own books, at the moment that verification matters most. The OBR forecasts against data the auditor cannot verify. The Treasury sets fiscal rules against it. Gilt markets price sovereign risk against it. We argue about headroom. We argue about debt sustainability. We argue about tax envelopes. The numbers underneath those arguments aren't even signed off. The auditor general has said so. Twice. How bad are the public finances? We don't know. The OBR doesn't know. The Treasury doesn't know. The people sitting in Number 11 don't know. That's the real story. What a mess.

The UK evacuated and resettled ~15,000 Afghans in 2021 under ARAP/ACRS schemes (a cross-government effort post-Kabul). Jenrick backed it as Housing Secretary, describing it as a "big national project" using bridging hotels. As Immigration Minister (2022-23) he oversaw the system when ~8,000 Afghans were in 55 bridging hotels at peak (early 2023). All 55 hotels were exited by August 2023; most moved into local authority or private housing. Nearly all remain in the UK on resettlement visas.

This absolute treasonous asshole is responsible for them being here in the first place. He was immigration minister under the last government. He personally procured hundreds of hotels and settled thousands of Afghans into our towns and communities. He called it his โ€œnational projectโ€. He had blood on his hands. Do not be persuaded by his propaganda. Heโ€™s trying to reinvent himself and he thinks weโ€™re falling for it. Voting back into power the traitors who are directly responsible for getting us into this mess is NOT the answer.
Robert Jenrick@RobertJenrick

If Burnham wins, a million low skilled migrants will be allowed to stay and get British citizenship in the next few years. And he wonโ€™t stop the boats. Instead he will put them in bedsits on your street. To pay for it all? Heโ€™ll have to hike your taxes.

Panda has the right remedy for theatre- drop the self-pity, reject the community-worker cosplay, and ruthlessly prioritise exciting, ambitious work worth buying a ticket for. Let it be excellent at what it naturally does best. Same being done with the countryside, when it should be prioritising producing food, managing land productively and preserving its actual character- instead of turning it into a subsidised theme park for urban therapeutic needs. Same ideological factory, same outputs, same declining results. Different stages, same script. Time for a rewrite.

This ranking tells us a lot about the Guardian. They want the moral weight of Christianity w/o Christianity. That's why Middlemarch ranks 1st. Duty, sympathy, sacrifice & goodness AFTER belief has collapsed. It's for people who still need virtue, but don't know what it's for.
