Concerted western effort to prop up Islamist forces in Bangladesh. In principle nothing wrong in supporting a developing country but should it be to a government that has gained power through street riots and opened doors to Islamic extremism. Why not wait and watch? Strange that Europe wants to control these extremist forces within its own borders but backs them in our neighbourhood. They are aware of India’s concerns but are ignoring them. They won’t be able to control the internal political dynamics in Bangladesh but don’t see this as their problem. The same lack of geopolitical acuity as in the case of European security.
