@AJV_76 @footyindustryAU I’d like to see them buy a stake in Accor Stadium provided the government fully invests in making it a state of the art rectangular stadium.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal that the ARL Commission are in the process of conducting due diligence on the likely acquisition of a major Sydney hotel, worth an estimated $100 million. The NRL’s mission to become a fiscal powerhouse has led to the purchase of approximately $90 million in real estate through four hotels since 2022. heraldsun.com.au/sport/nrl/nrl-…

@0xLimas Newcastle, Brisbane, Melbourne, etc all have the same issues. Brisbane for example have introduced a seat return system for full season members.

@B4b7bu Not true. Whenever a game is “sold out” at any other venue in the nrl there isn’t an empty spot. Sold out at go media stadium is always 30% empty

@LeagueScenePod Interesting choice for him. Does he jeopardise his RWC 2027 dreams with the Wallabies for a Mickey Mouse World Cup?

A cross-code international tug-of-war is about to commence for the services of Mark Nawaqanitawase. Nawaqanitawase's union deal with Japanese rugby begins in December. The Wallabies would love for him to be on the Spring Tour but NRL bosses are exploring a prospect of a deal that would keep the flyer for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup. 📰 @BulldogRitchie

Opinion… when AFL likely expands to 24 games in 2028, would love to see 11 home, 11 away, 1 Gather + 1 Growth game per club. AFL arranged to take reliance off clubs eg Melb in Alice. No games in Cairns since 2022, Townsville 2019. Newcastle region has 680k. Proper growth markets

@DAM01983 Yes they do. Those who prefer FOX will have to watch Nine's coverage for seven matches a year. (Origin games for Men's and Women's and the NRL Grand Final). All other matches are on FOX/Kayo.

BREAKING: The ARLC has approved the NRL’s new TV rights deal. Fox and Nine have retained the rights, with the extra game from next year to be broadcast exclusively on the former, and it will net the game $5.3 billion over seven years, which could rise higher pending New Zealand TV investment. Additionally, a clause has been included to expand the coverage to 10 matches should a 20th team be introduced by 2030. 📝 @badel_cmail & @brentread_7

The ARL Commission is set to seal a stunning $5.3 billion TV rights deal in a broadcast bonanza that will see the NRL trump the AFL’s existing contract by almost $1 billion. The deal is worth around $750 million annually, but could grow to almost $800m per season with the addition of a 20th franchise, a 10th game per round, and Kiwi TV investment. The ARL Commission is putting the finishing touches on the deal with a formal announcement expected in the coming days, if not early next week. dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/nrl-…

@joshem27 @michaelsnape Raiders filled up the current one a few times last year. The current stadium is pathetic and is keeping people from attending.

@michaelsnape Meh a-league have you seen their attendances & the raiders can’t even fill the current stadium , very hard to justify the cost of a new one that’s why I brought up the afl, at least their fans show up

Christchurch, NZ (530,000 ppl) has a new stadium - $680 million Canberra (565,000 ppl) has a 45 year old stadium and no prospects of getting a new stadium. ACT ALP is a joke.

@meister_da @centralNRL You would think the RLPA fight for their share of that so I can see the cap jumping. Hopefully that might mean attracting the top Union players around the world.

@centralNRL Big question for me is what does this mean for the salary cap. If the keep the same ratio of cap to tv deal the cap could go up over 20 million

NRL’s new TV rights deal expected to include: • Record-breaking $5 billion, seven-year agreement through 2034 • Worth around $700 million per season, surpassing the AFL’s current deal • Foxtel/Kayo expected to secure 9 live games per round from 2027 with the 18th team • Channel 9 to retain 3 games per round and remain the NRL’s free-to-air partner • Channel 7 and Network 10 set to miss out despite interest, while Amazon also explored the rights • Deal could reportedly be finalised before Game III of State of Origin on July 8 • Peter V’landys says affordability for fans and broadcaster support for the game’s growth remain key priorities. BREAKING: Foxtel are emerging as the big winners of the NRL broadcast rights. The contract will be expanded from five years to SEVEN with Fox/9 set to retain rights. More importantly for FOX - it’ll maintain streaming rights for every game with Nine to have theee games per round. 📝 @badel_cmail

Swans and Lions tonight was live on prime time on Sevens main channels in Sydney and Brisbane, decent margin, but not excessive. The ratings should be interesting - and for once we should get that data.
