@NZFreeSpeech @GraemeEdgeler All NZ police are constables, even the Commissioner, while some have a rank of Sergeant, Senior Sergeant, or Officer. Inspector is lowest officer rank and Commissioner the highest. A senior constable is an older constable without rank who often knows more than most officers.

Is there consensus on what rank counts as a "senior police officer"? My initial view is Inspector or higher, but could maybe stretch to Senior Sergeant.

More officers who work for @nzpolice are contacting us, telling us how concerned they are by the new training requirements they must meet on 'Hate Speech' and 'Hate Crime'. Remember: 1) examples of 'hate speech' they are shown is a sign that reads 'there are only two genders' or a billboard that reads 'Kiwi, not Iwi.' 2) no such thing are 'hate crime' exists in New Zealand. Police have entirely made it up themselves... and that's not their job.
