Logan Gilbert says he is thankfully no worse for wear after getting hit by the comebacker Wed. A medicated patch has taken care of most of the bruise but the marks from the stitches on the ball remain.

NEW: Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert just pulled off one of the strangest plays in MLB history… A 107.8 mph line drive slammed straight into his jersey and got completely lodged there. It took him a few seconds to figure out where the ball even went. The play was ruled a single because the ball was considered dead once it stuck in his uniform. First time that’s ever happened in the majors. Wild.

@Akermaniac @RyanDivish His grip doesn't feel right, and that can change in one outing. His slider looked good last night just left the one to Kurtz over the plate.... Prior to that.. his last 2 outings he 1.1 inning it was 4 strikeouts.
