there are pros to not having immediate access to a phone at all times, like: - planning in advance and sticking to the plan - having to keep track of the time and being where you said you were doing - in the case something changes, having to have critical thought about how to proceed - freedom from constant surveillance of mom, having to answer the phone in the middle of play at the park fundamentally phones change our behavior because we have the "convenience" of always being able to communicate and we use that by never planning, sticking to plans, or having to think on our feet


My oldest is 6. Her age peers: -25% already have a smartphone -spend 7.2 HOURS/wk on internet devices -58% aren't even allowed to play IN THEIR OWN YARD without supervision -get less than 40 minutes/week outside without supervision -socialize with friends only 2.2 hrs/wk

Ok I dont really think anyone needs to be wearing a bike helmet unless theyre doing serious speeds or in traffic Little 6 mph kid bike ride on the sidewalk in the neighborhood, no helmet Most kids in my neighborhood dont use one and I like that
