Is UConn forced to front load sched w/home games & head on road Feb-March? Or is Morrone Stadium hosting in 5 degrees? UConn baseball is on road for 1st month of season, but 2 months on road seems extreme Major disadvantage for northern schools x.com/ByPatForde/sta…

Men's soccer planning to move its championship from December to March; will play a two-segment, two-semester season -- up to 18 matches from August through Thanksgiving weekend, then 10 more plus the tournament in February/March. Subject to cabinet review and approval.

National Park Service and Congress tried to authorize $300 million for this same project. Trump stopped it and picked a regular pool repair company. Do you feel Seth told the truth here?
Seth Abramson@SethAbramson

This paint job—if you can call it that—is costing you $7 million, America, because Trump gave a no-bid contract to a pal This would have been Exhibit A of the sort of shit DOGE was actually *supposed* to be looking for when it was instead cutting lifesaving scientific research

@JonathanDeBar78 There are not that many people that live in New England! And the population centers are dense compared to other parts of the states. If serious - end gerrymandering, support proportional representation and expand the House.

@JonathanDeBar78 I know MATH is hard for MAGA Republicans, but when you don’t win the most votes in an elections, you lose. As for gerrymandering, New England not, especially Connecticut where the State Supreme Court drew the map. Again it’s a math thing - 1 rep for 765,000 people.

They scream “gerrymandering” when Republicans draw maps in red states… but stay completely silent while Republicans in New England are locked out of congressional representation despite millions of Republican voters across the region. Connecticut has tens of thousands of Republican voters in CT-5 alone. Across New England, Republicans make up huge portions of the electorate, yet somehow end up with virtually no representation in Congress. That’s not “democracy.” That’s political protectionism. The political establishment wants controlled opposition, low turnout, and no real competition. They want conventions without contested primaries. They want voters sidelined while insiders make the decisions behind closed doors. I believe the people, not political gatekeepers, should decide who represents them. CT-5 is competitive. CT-5 can be flipped. But only if we stop accepting the same broken system that keeps producing the same results. It’s time to wake up and fight back. 🇺🇸 @CondemnedUSA @mrddmia @laralogan @RogerJStoneJr @POTUS @freedomcaucus @RepChipRoy @chiproytx @ByronDonalds @RepDonaldsPress @AllenWest @WesleyHuntTX @LynnePatton @NEWSMAX @NewsmaxII @BenBergquam 🌐 DeBarrosForCongress.org Paid for by De Barros for Congress Committee

@ConnecticutYR @leeshamak @NedLamont @GovNedLamont, give CT parents the option to send their kids to a school they deem appropriate for their children’s needs. What are you afraid of? There’s Federal money on the table and you won’t touch it. That is an absolute travesty.

@ConnecticutYR @NedLamont Ned did the right thing here. School choice is a scam. Takes away money from already struggling school districts that are dealing with higher costs. Ned needs to fix the ECS formula, not take away from our schools.

This war with Iran is America's, not just Trump's or Israel's. Doesn't matter whether we opposed it, we have to win it. Because whether measured in months or years, the issue of Iran Nuke Potential is real. Despite our pain at the pump, the current strategy of blockade is working. Iran is negotiating. Old allies like Britain are finally rallying, at least to the cause of commerce. (Though the French still ponder, they are mustering their fleet). The fight is not forever, but unless there is an unexpected diplomatic breakthrough, it won't be short or bloodless either. A continent away, Ukraine's righteous war with Russia appears to be faring better. The good guys, out-gunned and out-numbered could be winning. Already small, Putin seems diminished. So does Russia. Ukraine and its fearless leader Zelensky seems hardening and evermore capable. Slava Ukraini.

NEW: Massachusetts Congressional Map Proposal (9 Districts) 🇺🇸 What happens when you stop engineering maps—and start following geography? You get this 👇 ✔ Boston kept intact ✔ North Shore, South Shore, Cape Cod unified ✔ Worcester anchored ✔ Western MA no longer split apart ✔ Compact, county-based districts ⸻ 🗺️ WHAT CHANGED Current map: ➡️ Blends urban + suburban + rural areas ➡️ Stretches regions to balance outcomes ➡️ Hard to explain This map: ➡️ Clear regional districts ➡️ Communities of interest preserved ➡️ Easy to understand ⸻ ⚖️ WHY THIS IS FAIRER No artificial mixing of voters No overextended districts Geography—not politics—drives the lines 👉 If you can explain the map, it’s probably fair. ⸻ 🧠 BOTTOM LINE Massachusetts will still lean blue. But now the map actually reflects: Boston, the coasts, central MA, and the west—separately and honestly. ⸻ 👇 Should maps reflect geography or outcomes?

@KristiTalmadge I understand FACTS are hard. Read Article 1, Section 2 regarding the census. Texas started this trying to get Trump more seats. At least the people in California and Virginia had a vote in the matter compared to the GOP fascist states that want to please the Dear Leader.

No Shit Sherlock. Connecticut might go down to 4 Congressional Districts when we redo the census and do not count noncitizens when determining the number of House seats each state gets. 🤷‍♀️🇺🇸🎇
BackInStorrs@BackInStorrs

@KristiTalmadge Here are the FACTS: Your 1991 map from 3 DECADES ago is when CT had 6 congressional districts. CT with its current map (since 2001) with 5 seats, had GOP seats in 2004 and 2006 before going full blue in 2008. So maybe it’s the candidates? Not the maps. 🤷‍♂️

@GeraldoRivera I'm not sure NATO members in Europe would intervene if the USA was attacked by a foreign entity. NATO members Spain, Italy, & France didn't allow our military to use its own bases during the war with Iran. They chose the world's number one state sponsor of terrorism over the USA.

Electoral votes should be assigned at the district level with the state's overall winner getting the extra 2. Congressional seats should be assigned by turnout proportion.
