They scream “gerrymandering” when Republicans draw maps in red states… but stay completely silent while Republicans in New England are locked out of congressional representation despite millions of Republican voters across the region. Connecticut has tens of thousands of Republican voters in CT-5 alone. Across New England, Republicans make up huge portions of the electorate, yet somehow end up with virtually no representation in Congress. That’s not “democracy.” That’s political protectionism. The political establishment wants controlled opposition, low turnout, and no real competition. They want conventions without contested primaries. They want voters sidelined while insiders make the decisions behind closed doors. I believe the people, not political gatekeepers, should decide who represents them. CT-5 is competitive. @KristiTalmadge You don’t redo the census - the census occurs every 10 years. The current census was conducted under Trump 1.0. The next one is in April 2030.

@codemaggot @upstatefederlst How about change the electoral system of the single member districts and just go to statewide proportional representation and allow party bosses pick the representatives for each district?

@upstatefederlst I think maps should be drawn proportionally on the local geography. Nothing else should be considered.

Electoral votes should be assigned at the district level with the state's overall winner getting the extra 2. Congressional seats should be assigned by turnout proportion.
