On April 9, 2009, the Baloch Liberation Movement lost three prominent figures of the ongoing movement. All three figures were not only individuals who were martyred by the Pakistani army, but also intellectual warriors of the Baloch national struggle. Out of these figures, one was Waja Ghulam Muhammad (then Chairman of the Baloch National Movement), who was a prominent politician and an intellectual figure of the national movement. Lala Munir (a leader of BNM), and Sher Muhammad (a leader of BRP), who were leaders of their respective factions in the Baloch Liberation Movement. All three of them were abducted by the Pakistani army on April 3, 2009 and their mutilated bodies were dumped on April 9, 2009. The day was a heavy loss for the entire nation but it gave us strength and made us to recall our commitment towards the national liberation. Shuhda-e-Murgaap was the loss of life of three leaders but it strengthened our dedication and defiance. The nation didn’t mourn the loss but solidified their struggle and resilience which Shaheed Ghulam Muhammad had envisioned. This day is not an event to mourn for the loss but a reminder to recall the sacrifices made by those leaders towards the national liberation. This day demands a strengthened, united, and more organised form of struggle and resilience. The legacy which was left by Shuhda-e-Murgaap, must be preserved in all the forms that were intended. Waja Ghulam Muhammad always strove to institutionalise the Baloch national struggle for the glorious independence of the Baloch land. He was always on a path to strengthen and organise the liberation movement. He was always seen mobilising the masses of the Baloch land and had a strong belief in mass participation in the struggle. For that very reason he had been travelling to various parts of Balochistan to advocate for the national liberation struggle and to seek the participation of Baloch people. This day serves as a symbol of ideological strength and political will to strongly continue the legacy of Shaheed Ghulam Muhammad and rest of the Shuhda-e-Murgaap. #MartyrsOfMurgaap

چئیرمین زاہد بلوچ اور جونئیر جوائنٹ سیکریٹری اسد بلوچ گزشتہ بارہ سالوں سے پاکستانی ریاست کی ہاتھوں جبری گمشدگی کے شکار ہیں۔ شولان بلوچ- ترجمان، بلوچ اسٹوڈنٹس آرگنائزیشن آزاد بی ایس او آزاد کے سابقہ چئیرمین زاہد بلوچ اور مرکزی جونئیر جوائنٹ سیکریٹری کو 18 مارچ 2014 میں کوئٹہ کے علاقے سیٹلائٹ ٹاون سے غیرقانونی طریقہ سے اٹھا کر ان کو جبری گمشدگی کا شکار گیا گیا، جس کے چشم دید گواہ تنظیم کے سابقہ چئیرپرسن شہید بانک کریمہ تھے جن کو پاکستانی ریاست نے ٹورنٹو، کینڈہ میں شہید کیا۔ گزشتہ بارہ برسوں سے ان کو نہ منظرِ عام پر لایا گیا اور ناہی ان کی گرفتاری ظاہر کی گئی جو ریاست پاکستان کے جانب سے پرامن بلوچ سیاسی کارکنان کی جبری گمشدگی اور بلوچستان میں پرامن سیاسی ماحول کو ختم کرنے کی جابر پالیسیوں کا تسلسل ہے۔ ان کے جبری گمشدگی کے خلاف تنظیم نے اسی سال کراچی پریس کلب کے سامنے تادم مرگ بھوک ہڑتالی مہم کا آغاز کیا جس کی قیادت بانک کریمہ کررہے تھے اور لطیف جوہر بلوچ 46 دن بھوک ہڑتال پر بیٹھے رہے۔ اس وقت کے حکومتی نمائندوں اور انسانی حقوق کی تنظیموں کی جانب سے ان کے رہائی کی یقین دہانی کرائی گئی جس کے بعد تنظیم نے بھوک ہڑتالی کیمپ ختم کیا۔ مگر بارہ سال گزرنے کے بعد بھی ان کو نہ منظرِعام پر لایا گیا اور ناہی ان کے بارے میں کوئی معلومات فراہم کی گئی۔ اس کے بعد بھی تنظیم اور ان کے خاندان کی جانب سے مسلسل احتجاجی مہم چلائے گئے مگر پاکستانی ریاست اس جرم پر نہ صرف خاموش ہے بلکہ اجتماعی سزا کے پالیسی کو اپنا کر گزشتہ سال زاہد بلوچ کے بھائی شاہ جان بلوچ کو ان کے آبائی علاقے نال، خضدار میں بے دردی سے شہید کیا گیا۔ چئیرمین زاہد بلوچ اور اسد بلوچ تنظیم کے مرکزی رہنما تھے اور بلوچستان میں پرامن سیاسی جدوجہد میں سرگرم رہے ہیں۔ چئیرمین زاہد بلوچ جن کا بلوچ نوجوانوں کے اندر سیاسی شعور لانے میں اہم کردار ہے، وہ بلوچستان میں قابض پاکستانی ریاست کی ظلم و جبر کے خلاف ایک اہم آواز اور شخصیت ہیں جو بلوچ نوجوانوں سمیت عوام میں مقبول ہیں۔ انہوں نے بی ایس او آزاد کے پلیٹ فارم سے بلوچ نوجوانوں کو سیاسی تعلیم دی اور وہ بلوچستان میں پاکستانی ریاست کی جانب سنگین انسانی حقوق کی خلاف ورزیوں کے خلاف قومی اور عالمی سطح پر وکالت کررہے تھے۔ زاہد بلوچ بلوچستان میں رہ کر اپنی عوام کے رہنمائی کررہے تھے، 2013 میں بلوچستان کے علاقے آواران میں پیش آنے والی بھیانک زلزلہ میں وہ عوام کے اندر رہ کر ان کی مدد کرنے اور سماجی خدمات دینے میں مقبول شخصیت رہے ہیں۔ ان کی عوامی خدمات اور پرامن سیاسی سرگرمیوں سے پورا بلوچستان واقف ہے۔ تنظیم کے سربراہ چئیرمین زاہد بلوچ اور اسد بلوچ کو ان کی پرامن سیاسی جدوجہد اور عوام میں مقبولیت کے پاداش میں پاکستانی ریاست نے جبری گمشدگی کا شکار کیا ہے تاکہ وہ بی ایس او آزاد کو کمزور کرے اور بلوچستان میں جائز اور منظم عوامی نمائندگی کو کچل کر بلوچستان میں اپنی ناجائز قبضے کو برقرار رکھ سکے۔ مگر تنظیم چئیرمین زاہد بلوچ کے فلسفے پر آج نہ صرف قائم ہے بلکہ مزید منظم اور مقبول طاقت بن کر بلوچ عوام کی رہنمائی کررہا ہے۔ بلوچ قومی جدوجہد میں بی ایس او آزاد روح کی مانند مضبوط فکری بنیادوں پر قائم بلوچستان میں پرامن سیاسی جدوجہد میں سرگرم ہے جو ناجائز قبضے اور بلوچ ریاست کی دوبارہ بحالی تک جاری رہے گا۔ bsoazad.org/statements/%da…

𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐚𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐡? Asad Baloch is a Baloch student and political leader from Balochistan, who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani state security forces on March 18, 2014, in Quetta. 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 & 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Asad Baloch hails from Tump Dazin, one of the most affected areas in terms of state atrocities and brutalities in Balochistan, and the birthplace of revolutionaries like Lumma-E-Watan Karima, Khalid, and many others. He was a student when he joined political struggle. He was graduated from BUITEMS, Quetta and later pursued his study in Federal Urdu University, Karachi. 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 State aggression against BSO Azad, including the assassination, enforced disappearance, and killing of hundreds of members and leadership — strengthened rather than weakened the spirit of political struggle like Asad Baloch to struggle further for the Baloch cause. Asad was elected as a central committee member after forming the organizing body of BSO-Azad in 2011. Following this, in the organization’s council session, Asad Baloch was elected as Junior Joint Secretary without opposition, recognized as an active and talented political cadre of the organization. Asad Baloch was one of the important leaders of the organization during the crisis of 2013, when a large-scale propaganda campaign against BSO Azad was initiated to disrupt its struggle. Asad, alongside other leadership, remained committed against all odds and obstacles on the ground. 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 Soon after being elected as Junior Joint Secretary, Asad Baloch actively participated in the political activities of the organization throughout Balochistan. As Junior Joint Secretary of BSO Azad — the largest and most organized student organization in Balochistan, Asad Baloch operated within a structure committed to peaceful, political, and democratic struggle. He was on his way to a formal organizational meeting when state agencies abducted him on March 18, 2014, for the “crime” of being a Baloch student and political activist. Protests and hunger strikes have repeatedly been held demanding his release. Despite assurances, these promises remain unfulfilled. Asad Baloch is believed to continue to be held in secret detention centers.
