My high school coach worked us hard. But nothing compared to college baseball. That first week on campus, I was so sore I could barely take a step longer than 6 inches. That’s when I realized: There are levels to this game.

What high school players think college baseball is: • gear • attention • status What it actually is: • pressure • accountability • competition Everybody wants the identity. Few want the responsibility.

A lot of players say they want to play college baseball. What they actually want is the identity of being a college baseball player. Those are different things.

At first, I was like well this is normal, then it was an audible gasp of disbelief.

How it should be. Not trying to be a hard-ass but it doesn’t hurt to get hit by 95-97 mph fastballs as much as people think. I understand if you’re Judge / Ohtani, 99% aren’t though. Take your HBP’s unless it’s head/knee. You should never move if you’re HS / College.

Youth travel baseball is the worst. You don’t need to go anywhere for competition! Just drove 3 hours round trip to see my son get walked 4x

I really don't like that the broadcast showed this moment. I know. Soft. Whatever. I just don't like turning the knife on a player when he got about as far away from the spotlight as possible. If he had this reaction standing at the rail, fine.

The most extinct thing in the entire movie isn’t the public pools, the country fair, or block parties. Those all still exist. It’s the idea of kids playing baseball just for fun. No trophies, no tournament, no parents, just play. Travel sports has ruined a generation of kids.

HS Baseball players & parents… Please STOP waste money on a showcases unless 2 of the following are true: (Save this to reference these metrics) 1. You throw 84+ mph from infield/outfield 2. You throw 70+ mph from behind the plate 3. You throw 85+ mph (RHP) 4. You throw 82+ mph (LHP) 5. You run a sub 7.0 60 yard dash 6. Your hitting exit velo is 90+ mph 7. You play or will expect to play varsity in the coming season If you don’t do these things, it’s a WASTE until you develop more!
