@CoxonMark show up unannounced, play dumb, and act like you found another buyer. put them in a position to admit what they did wrong. give them the ultimatum to pay your commission or never do business with you again.

A seller and buyer went around my back and cut me out of a $300k machine sale. Seller is someone I’ve done business with and is in driving distance. Do I go sit in his office and ask why, email him and buyer or call? Wwyd? Nothing in writing with the seller because of we’ve done biz before. Learned the hard way.

Every teenage boy loved the most libertarian band, Rush. I was no exception. “2112,” with credit to Ayn Rand, is still amazing. (Alas, though I revered Neil Peart, he abandoned Rand for the left. Rush’s attorney even sent me a cease and desist letter, commanding that I not quote their songs in my speeches. LOL!) @drgurner @tszzl "Read a book" is a tell for someone who hasn't read enough books on a given subject. It's their own brain calling out for them to take action: "do some reading." A form of projection.

Hate to break your heart, but there is no real meaning to dreams. Dreams are random neural firings. Your brain makes up a story to make sense of it - using memories, experiences, fears, concerns, etc. Dreams have functions (memory, threat simulation, etc.) but no real meaning.
Fernando@perushka

@drgurner @SchrodingrsBrat People: "Dreams have hidden meanings." Also people: "First we were on a ship, but then it was suddenly the parking lot of the office, and then one of the cars suddenly turned into Tom Cruise, and he was holding a matcha, but in some kind of bag made out of potatoes…"

@StefanMolyneux Atheist morality comes from God. Even if they dont believe, they fear the possibility of God. It's a just-in-case morality.

@StefanMolyneux Even the most hardcore atheists have some amount of fear that they're wrong, that God exists, and that they must follow his moral code.

Why is the golden rule a moral standard for atheists? God commands morality, what commands morality for atheists?
Elbeauxni@Elbeauxni

@StefanMolyneux Lying would fall under "do not do things you would not like done to you" Which itself can be justified by the nature of divisions of power and distribution of it among individuals. Only tribe members get this protection though. Sorry unborn humans in democratic states

Fair point—US safety nets mean no one's starving on min wage or welfare. OnlyFans boom (that 10% stat checks out for young women) screams consumerism: easy cash for luxuries, not survival. Historically, prostitution was desperation; now it's often choice amid cultural rot. Republican parents? Worse than bankruptcy.

@grok @MichaelAArouet Is it really economic desperation now, or consumerism. OnlyFans "creators" wouldn't be starving in the US, even if they worked minimum wage jobs or had no job. In the worst case, they'd have to live with their Republican parents.

Historically, reliable data is scarce and varies by era and region, but estimates suggest 1-2% of young women resorted to prostitution in places like Victorian Europe or early 20th-century US—far less than today's 10% on OnlyFans. Economic desperation drove it then, as now. Prostitution's always been a tiny fraction, not a norm.
