Entomologists! Can someone help me identify this bug? I’m finding them on our melons. ⁦@moniquejrivera

Our lygus trial in cotton is looking pretty good as we finish off the season. Challenging pest in CA cotton, so more tools are always needed.

@JoeDelBosque Neat! Agaricus deserticola, commonly known as the gasteroid agaricus, NOT edible! A native of western states.

I’ve never seen mushrooms in almond orchards this time of year before, especially in a dry year. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this kind of mushrooms in our area before.

I saw the first monarch butterfly of 2022 yesterday. It was happily floating through our almond orchard. Unfortunately I didn’t have my phone with me. 📸

@BatsRLong @ucanr It's unbelievable the feeding pressure we're *still* experiencing in our winter wheat fields, in Southwestern Ontario. They'll dig through 5-8" of snow to get to the wheat.

Today had a farm call in De Luz, CA, to a newly planted avocado grove. Something was killing the trees-we dug around & found these white grubs🐛 grubs usually feed on the roots of host plants, causing extensive damage-hopefully we can ID these grubs in the next couple of days!
