Absolutely we have to revolutionize our system. Virtually no one thinks it's working. I understand many of us (all of us) are tired. But if we can't or aren't willing to do what it takes to get it right we should either support those who are or get out of the way.

@teachbk Not to be flip, but reinventing the system. But I believe that was implied in your tweet, so what's that going to take? Revolution? I don't see that we truly have the will, given that post-COVID should have seen serious change to how we do things.

I keep thinking about how many teachers and students are thriving in individual schools and classrooms in spite of the educational system they’re in. I also keep thinking about how many are not. What is it going to take to get this right?

@korytellers Electives has specific meaning, not applicable here. Explorations is a verboten word here (long story).

@BenBo370 What is the point of the topics? Are they truly enrichments or something else? Maybe “Explorations.” “Electives” something along that route?

Naming help: I am creating an enrichment period for our high school. For pilot, Ts will offer topics; Ss will choose (all Ss pick something). I don't want to call it enrichment. Other ideas?

I'd be interested to see what evidence there is, from reasonable and reasoned sources, about gender surgeries being performed on minors for reasons other than medical. I have found very little—which is to say, pretty much none.

@korytellers @VictoriaTheTech @mrs_g_rider @JennBinis I have blocked two people here. I think this was the car of one of them. In any case, deliberate mischaracterization and putting words in my mouth are cardinal sins.

@VictoriaTheTech @mrs_g_rider Honestly, I would block that person and completely ignore this. @JennBinis or @BenBo370 might remember from years ago a similar situation where we had someone accusing us of really odd things. It got a little creepy at times, that I wish I had dropped it sooner than I did.

Somewhere in the previous tweets I denied, lied, and blamed other people for a made-up problem. Let me know when you all see it, because I'm still searching.

@rpondiscio @Moms4FAPE What does that say look like? What %age of parents (and other citizens) are equipped to provide feedback or participate in whatever way? On what aspects of curriculum might parents contribute? Do we have a shared definition of curriculum? What logistical challenges might arise?
