The fertility rate has been effectively below 2.1 births per woman since the 1970s. Furthermore, the general fertility rate, measured as births per 1,000 women aged 15 to 44, fell to 53.1 in 2025, an all-time low, continuing a decline that began in 2007. Additionally, birthrates for women in their late 30s exceeded those for women in their early 20s for the first time on record in 2025. America is heading into a demographic crisis.

This is absolutely insane: Inflation in the US just unexpectedly posted one of the largest monthly declines since 2023. While a +10 basis point increase in inflation was expected, it actually FELL by -40 basis points. This puts Core CPI inflation in the US at its lowest level since March 2021. According to this data, inflation is now at its closest point to the Fed's 2% target since the pandemic. 2026 is going to be a wild year.
