Deeply disturbed and anguished by the attack on TBA Church leaders in Kangpokpi District, Manipur. Such acts of unprovoked violence and brutality against leaders who work to foster peace, unity, and brotherhood are unacceptable and must be strongly condemned. I urge the authorities in Manipur to take immediate and strict action against those responsible.

■The same Meiteis who've historically branded Manipur Nagas as Kacha-Nagas (Outsiders) & repeatedly asserted that "No Unique history of Nagas has ever existed, any purported 'Naga History in Manipur' are artificially manipulated & fabricated data on the basis of falsehoods which was forcefully & aggressively promoted by NSCN-IM" are now frantically working to mobilise the same "Nagas" under a single umbrella & use them as proxies to fight the kukis in Manipur.

To all those people who are trolling and writing vile comments about me for speaking to only one side in this Litan Conflict Give me someone from the Tangkhul's side to speak on camera, I visited them twice in their camps, which doesn't look like civilian camp but of armed groups, they didn't speak to us on camera instead choose to have a lengthy conversation off the camera So, it isn't my bias of not speaking to them it is them who doesn't want to explain their side of things on camera While, the Kuki's are speaking amicably on camera and sharing their side of things, the people in Tangkhul camp here in Litan doesn't seem to interact with media, we kept waiting for hours and then were told by their leaders that they are 'media shy,' 'camera shy' and so on. These people weren't locals of Litan Sareikhong, but of other nearby villages as they claim but majority of them were armed and had some reservations speaking to us without consulting with their leaders. #WATCH | Delhi | On the Supreme Court seeking status of the NIA probe into the deaths of 10 Persons in the Manipur CRPF Camp Encounter, Supreme Court Advocate Vishwajit Singh says, "Yes, we have filed this petition before the Supreme Court. It's a writ petition. We had to go to the court because, in our opinion, the investigation is not progressing. More than a year has passed since this incident occurred in Manipur's Jiribam district. Within the premises of the CRPF camp, those 10 tribal boys were killed after heavy firing. All of them were unarmed, and all of them sustained injuries which look like execution, and they don't look like combat injuries. All the entry bullet wounds are from the back side of the body, and it looks like they have been shot from the back. Heavy-calibre fire has been used, likely an LMG... No action appears to have been taken by the investigating agency, the NIA. The central government had ordered an NIA investigation. But nobody has been arrested...For now, the court has requested a status report on the progress of the investigation to date. The next date has been fixed for 12th January. So let's see what report comes from the MHA"

@rlungleng For your information, delimitation in Manipur has been pending since 2003 due to Meitei opposition to the increase of 5 more Assembly seats for the tribal population of Manipur based on the 2001 census. Initially, they stalled the delimitation exercise by disputing the 2001 census data for Senapati District and compelled the government to arbitrarily remove 90,000 individuals from the four Naga sub‑divisions—Mao, Maram, Paomata, and Purul. Subsequently, they challenged the population figures of the two Naga‑dominated districts, Ukhrul and Chandel. On behalf of the tribals of Manipur, I was the petitioner in the Supreme Court, contesting the High Court order that directed a re‑census for those two Naga‑dominated districts. In July 2007, the Supreme Court stayed the High Court order, which had allowed a recount of heads in Ukhrul and Chandel and permitted the delimitation exercise to proceed based on the 2001 Census. However, leveraging their majority political power, the Meitei community pressured the then‑UPA government to promulgate the Delimitation Act of 2003 through the President of India. The Act was later amended by Parliament under the People’s Representation Act, 2008, which states: “Due to the prevailing law‑and‑order situation in Manipur, delimitation in Manipur is deferred until the President of India is satisfied that the law‑and‑order conditions are conducive for conducting the delimitation exercise, and the President may, by order, direct the Election Commission of India to undertake delimitation.” 1Consequently, it remains the prerogative of the Government of India to conduct the delimitation exercise based on 2001 Census, which has been pending since 2003, thereby depriving the tribals of Manipur of their rightful constitutional rights and equitable representation in the State Assembly.

Incident Report: Shooting at Phubala and Subsequent Exchange of Fire Today, at approximately 3:00 PM, one Ningthoujam Biren Singh, a cultivator from Phubala Awang Maning Leikai, was shot in his left arm by an unknown armed miscreant while working in his paddy field at Phubala Maning. He was initially taken to District Hospital, Bishnupur for medical treatment and was later referred to RIMS Hospital, Imphal. His condition is reported to be stable at present. In response, security forces launched a search operation in and around Langchingmanbi, Heichanglok, and the western areas of Phubala village. During the course of the operation, security forces came under fire from unknown armed miscreants and the forces retaliated accordingly. During the crossfire, one woman from Langchingmanbi village was found dead with a bullet injury. She was later identified as Mrs. Hoikholhing, wife of the village chief of Langchingmanbi. Local police have attended to the incident and the deceased is being transported to District Hospital, Churachandpur for necessary legal formalities. Cases have been registered in connection with the incidents, and investigation is underway. Combined security forces are continuing search operations to nab the culprit(s). Every effort is being made to bring those responsible to justice at the earliest. Additionally, security arrangements related to farming activities in the area will be reviewed. Adequate security shall be provided to ensure the safety of farmers in the fields and prevent recurrence of such incident. The public is requested to maintain peace and not circulate unverified information. Further updates will be issued as the investigation progresses.

Publicly release black box data (CVR and FDR) ▪️The black box holds critical flight data including flap positions, engine thrust, and cockpit voice recordings ▪️In the 737 MAX crashes, Ethiopia and Indonesia released black box data quickly and transparently India owes the same honesty to its people 2. Invite global aviation bodies (NTSB, EASA) ▪️Europe’s EASA refused to rely solely on the FAA and conducted its own independent review of Boeing aircraft after the MAX disasters ▪️India must involve neutral international experts to ensure a thorough and unbiased investigation 3. Audit Air India’s fleet, crew training, and safety procedures ▪️After the MAX crashes, Canada reviewed pilot training, checklists, and airline-level oversight. ▪️If takeoff configurations, maintenance gaps, or procedural lapses played a role, they must be identified and addressed 4. Demand full disclosure from Boeing ▪️The US Congress compelled Boeing to release internal documents, warnings, and emails after the 737 MAX crashes ▪️India must do the same. If there were known risks involving the 787’s flaps, landing gear, or sensors, the public has a right to know 5. Ground similar aircraft if serious risks are found ▪️China grounded the entire 737 MAX fleet within 24 hours of the second crash, choosing safety over corporate relationships ▪️India must be ready to take similar action if investigators find systemic risks 6. Communicate clearly and consistently with families and the public Provide regular, factual updates. Speak directly to those who are grieving This is not just about one crash It is about a system that allowed over 250 people to fall from the sky with no warning and no chance We cannot bring them back.
