@drchriscarson You could change the word ‘Doctors’ for pretty much every other job in the public sector. If I had been paid for overtime, I could probably retire at 45.

@AndyBell994 @1stclassmaths @Just_Maths I agree. My papers are a prediction of what topics I think will come up. They all say ‘best guess’ but my students refer to them as predicted papers as that is the terminology that they use. I have educated them on the dangers of following ‘tutors’ who promise the world.

@1stclassmaths @Just_Maths Well your practice papers are based on what’s come up on previous papers and patterns from previous years, so surely they are far closer to the first part of your analogy rather than the second?

Seriously … stop calling them predicted papers (unless you have an inside line to the exam team!) … they’re aimed at impressionable kids who will believe what you’re saying … be honest they are a best guess … your opinion.

@1stclassmaths On this general topic. Anyone got any good recommendations for teachers that do good a level predictions?

If you're a teacher and you're creating resources for between maths exams can we please normalise the term "practice paper" rather than "predicted paper". I'm no longer going to retweet so called predicted papers.

@Tom_does_maths @1stclassmaths Great point! If each creator needed to state their current school, it would be a much safer place for students. Far too many ‘tutors’ that have either never been in a classroom or haven’t been in one for many years.

@1stclassmaths I think something we should be getting students to look out for is - are they actual current teachers? Often a good indicator.

@GES_MathsandCS Thank you. I’m glad that you and your pupils found them useful. I will be adding the breakfast revision mats to the website by the end of Monday too.

@BennettMaths We used these today in our Saturday booster with some of our fantastic pupils. They were absolutely spot on! Thank you so much for everything you have done to support all pupils. We are incredibly grateful.

Predicted paper 3’s are now live on the website! Thank you to everyone who has shared the papers with colleague and students this year. Downloads are up 125% on last year, and my TikTok account has finally started to gain some traction! bennettmaths.com

@1stclassmaths You literally have the term predicted on your site (granted it is from a previous year) and you also shared Hannah’s paper 1 & 2 which states predicted.

@BennettMaths I don't think you understand my first message. I am asking you, as a teacher, to stop using the term as it contributes to the problem. You don't have to do so but I won't be supporting anything you create if you do.

@1stclassmaths I think you may have misunderstood my last message. If you look at all of my papers, they say ‘best guess papers’, if you look across the resources shared online, the majority still say ‘predicted papers’ and, have done so for paper 1 & 2 too.

@BennettMaths Well, not if you continue to support the use of the term then no. It’s a simple contribution that you can do (everyone else has disclaimers too) but if you’re choosing to use it I will no longer support/endorse your work from this point on.

@1stclassmaths The wording won’t change from the majority. Hence, the need to spread awareness of which resource creators are reputable and which scam companies should be avoided.

@BennettMaths By calling it predicted you are just adding fuel to the fire. Doesn’t matter who started it, needs putting out.
