Tonight the Mariners will most likely get swept by the Dodgers. Dropping them all the way to .500 at 64-64 and most likely six games back of the division. This coming in the same year that they held a commanding 10 game division lead. Don’t know how much more of this I can do.

I’ve been watching only location of pitches for the past 3 days on college and MLB level. I know why spots are missed so much in the game today. Ya Got catchers on their butts with a leg out and glove on the ground. This part of the game needs an overhaul. This is terrible 👇🏽

Catchers are on one knee most of the time with runners on. Yes, they sometimes block a ball that happens to bounce directly into them. But they can't move side to side to block. Also, I said I haven't seen hits strung together this decade, not in a decade. And that would be hyperbole

I love baseball. But it's truly sad to me that, for the first time in the history of the game, you can't tell your kids to watch MLB and do what they do. ☹️Hitters watch fastballs down the middle for strike 3 constantly. They don't care about striking out. They don't situationally hit. No 2-strike adjustments. ☹️Catchers do not prioritize blocking baseballs. Which means they don't value the 90-feet they give up. And they target very poorly. ☹️Pitchers don't care about hitting spots. They just chuck it as hard as they can. (And no one in the game can keep them healthy) ☹️Baserunners jog on every routine out. And in doing so, they don't take advantage of defensive bobbles. ☹️Teams do not string together hits. The only way anyone seemingly scores runs anymore is via a walk and a blast. And the blasts are cool, don't get me wrong. But how about a string of line drives and gappers in an inning to create 3 or 4 runs? Haven't seen that this decade Obviously not everyone in MLB is guilty of these things. But the vast majority are. And it sucks. Hard to have my kid watch MLB and have to tell him, "Don't do what that pro player just did." But that's where we are. Gonna have to just watch college baseball as long as possible. At the college level, the game is much more pure. Much better product. A lot more fun to watch.
