Hot take: a big part of the disconnect between liberals and leftists regarding No Kings is that a lot of leftists just don't really care about democracy that much. Election integrity doesn't feel like a "real issue" to them because their ideal leader doesn't have to be elected.

"people who say they're poly" is a different selector than "people who are accepted by the poly community." intentionally pursuing monogs without admitting you're poly is widely rejected
same deal for monogamy. I'm not going to say monogamy doesn't work for anyone because some assholes are serial cheaters
there's this weird thing where people can claim they're part of a group, do shitty stuff, and be rejected by that group — but still damage that group's reputation from the perspective of outsiders!
(especially willfully ignorant bad-faith outsiders. these people make their case by finding the worst people who identify as the thing and ignore who is actually accepted by the group)
do you criticize the gay community when a straight guy goes to a gay bar to hit on women? do you criticize the BDSM community when some outcast loser says their partner can't have a safeword?
there are always bad actors trying to get away with shit. communities are mostly worthy of blame when these bad actors aren't repelled

@BethlehemAmanda The scenario you describe sounds lovely. I’m sure it is real for some, particularly in areas where starter homes are still $250,000. The reality I’ve seen on the East Coast with polys paying on $850,000 starter homes with $3000 a month in daycare is more brutal.

When I transferred to the hospital after my home birth for some extra help with my PPH, I got a pretty substantial bill in the mail. It took months of fighting with both the billing department and the insanely mean customer service department to even get an itemized bill mailed to me. When I finally got the bill, they charged me over $900 for a fetal non stress test… which is something done to women while they’re still pregnant… I showed up the day after my baby was born… The nasty customer service woman argued with me and told me that I received that ultrasound even though I told her I absolutely did not. It took many back and forth phone calls to receive a nurse audit of my bill. And lo and behold, when the audit was finished, they dropped the charge because it was physically impossible for me to have received that service!!! I was also charged twice for triage, even though I was never triaged since I arrived via ambulance. They took those charges off the bill as well 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

I really want, but don't need, this expensive backpack. I'm running an 8K next month. I think my speed that day will be 12-16 minutes/mile. I want to do a linear sliding scale "coinflip": if I achieve 12m/mile that day, I def buy the backpack. 14m, flip coin. 16m, no purchase.

Please dispose of needles in some type of sharps bin. An empty laundry detergent bottle works well. The little pour spout lifts right out. (It's just a pressure fit.)
