This is the issue of looking at TV as simply a writer's medium. The format is still driven by the visual art used to present that episodic format. The visual presentation of animation and photography are two very different ways of expressing similar concepts. Incompatible 1 to 1

The older I get the less I care about “lore”. I want a film with masterful filmmaking and storytelling and that’s what The Last Jedi provides.

A beautiful scene ruined by totally destroying all the lore in Star Wars regarding hyperspace or superweapons. It's a perfect summation of the travesty that is The Last Jedi: visually stunning but otherwise absolute trash, and, naturally, fans of it don't understand why.
