@ryanssking1 @YIMBYLAND Valid point. But unfortunately the federal government refuses to regulate it so states can do what they want.

@Bibbyeozp @YIMBYLAND So you admit data centers are part of interstate commerce and therefore states shouldn’t have the power to ban them in their states. Thanks for clarifying.

@ClydeNCross @YIMBYLAND I was specifically referring to AI hyperscaler data centers which can be anywhere for the most part. The ones that cause people’s energy bills to spike

@Bibbyeozp @YIMBYLAND This is wrong. You can’t just build every data center in Texas. DCs are connected regionally. Enterprises store hardware near their business. It’s like saying build every cell tower in Texas and the whole country benefits. DCs/cell towers go where people and businesses are.

@YIMBYLAND And before you mention property tax, New York can build literally anything else that can generate property tax revenue that doesn’t also make life more expensive for New Yorkers

@YIMBYLAND Let me explain something YIMBYLAND refuses to acknowledge You can literally build every single data center in Texas and New Yorkers will still benefit from them exactly the same. And Texans will be paying for the energy. Why would anyone want a data center in their state?

@SGTWipper1Each @ThrillaRilla369 Well, I’m pretty sure it requires they purchase the weapons from American companies. So it really is a hand out to the military industrial complex more than it is to Israel. But, I do think there is a strategic advantage in supporting the only stable democracy in the region.

@trabrewog @JohnAlexWolfram @HorrorGorl That’s not capitalism. Capitalists advocate for smaller government and free and FAIR markets. Massive corporations controlling the government, centralizing power, and rigging markets in their favor is neither a free nor fair market. That system is corporatism

Food trucks were supposed to be the budget option. Now they cost the same as sit-down restaurants. Eating on a sidewalk shouldn’t cost restaurant prices.

@PeorgeyGeorgey @piran_peyman @Hedgeye Iran has been attacking the UAE this whole time and the world is not considering it terrorism because the US attacked first. This is a factual statement whether your goofy ass wants to admit it or not.
