@skumWgmi 2013 bought my first house, 1100 sq.ft 135k sold it in 2020 fo 375k. same house today is valued at 460k 5 years later. Estimated mortgage with 20% down=2800$ with no PMI. Rent is about 3x higher than when I bought the home.

Nobody talks about how genuinely different life was 15 years ago. $650 rent. $4 happy hour. A full grocery run under $90. Job offers within a week of applying. Nights out that weren't being filmed and uploaded before you got home. That world existed. it wasn't that long ago. And it is completely gone.

@strallweat Double edge sword. We will eventually meet in the middle, blue collar guys don’t pay for house upgrades and high paying college people will be less existent buying house upgrades etc. it will then be just corporations building new things hopefully to keep Up all the work flow.

Something I find interesting. The boomer blue collar workers didn't want their kids breaking their backs so they sent them off to college to get white collar jobs. In the US that coencided with the gov backing student loans, which meant anyone could get a loan bc it was guaranteed repayment. That caused a massive boom in college students and also jacked the school prices way up. Now that the boomer guys are retiring it's creating a massive shortage in blue collar workers. It's an incredible opportunity for people to get in on. I did it for 10 years before switching career paths. But blue collar guys are the ones with the disposable income now lol. It's a cool shift to see.

And there are thousands of me out there. It’s not some magic like everyone thinks. It’s just f tons of money.
